Re: favourite hockey team

Under the circumstances they were dealt? They were dealt the easiest rated schedule this year. And don't even bother trying to argue injuries. Injuries are a part if the game. You're only as good as your back up and its a 52 man team, not a one man team. Football is a great game simply because there are no excuses. There's a tight salary cap, a standardized scheduling, a fair drafting system, and probably the strictest drug testing policy in pro sports.

This has been a great season for me. Going 11-5 with the hardest team schedule in nearly 25 years, #1 ranked defense across the board, and the two teams half the commentators picks for the SB (Dallas and NE) didn't even make the play offs.

P.S. I heard Brady may be out of the 2009 season as well because of bad surgery. Happy, happy times.

Soft schedule or not, they still won 11 games with a quartberback that hadn't gotten under center for a meaningful snap since his senior year of high school. I understand what you're saying in that every team has to deal with the same type of situation from time to time, but this was more significant than most of those situations.

Re: favourite hockey team

ah yes, the steelers fan. however, this is not a season debate. we were talking about well run organizations, and yes, they didn't make the playoffs, although they had the qualifications to. few could argue that for the past decade, they have been the best run and most successful franchise in the nfl.
