Sticky topics
I think 9 sticky topics is too much. We need to condense them and leave important ones up there so new people will notice them.
We should make a topic called something like interesting topics on RU or something.
Internet videos topic
Cheers to RU
Oh happy day to you
Those don't need to be stickied do they? Add those to the interesting topic, also add some other ones to flesh it out.
The rest can go into a topic called Useful/Important Topics on RU or w/e.
Just have two stickies, Important and interesting topics. I really think it will help make things clearer and make the site look more professional. Thoughts?
Also I think we should either get rid of or seriously limit the ability to sticky topics. Maybe make it like most other forums and have it be mod approved?
Btw this goes for other sections too, it's just this one is the most cluttered and probably the most likely to be seen by new people.

Re: Sticky topics
@Kong- You think we should have a sticky for the useful ones you unstickied? What about limiting the sticky topic thing?

Re: Sticky topics
Well dudebro I think that with the sticky topics being able to be bought in the shop that there will still be alot of sticky topics around. So the way to limit them is to have someone just buy them all up or the ones in the shop just seem to magically disappear.

That's what I mean. All it takes is one or two idiots to spam the forums with stickies. The mods can easily deal with it but it'd be annoying and disruptive. Maybe have the ability to sticky topics based on membership level? That sounds like incentive to me.

Re: Sticky topics
Or dudebro it could go back to a way that I remember it as. You can ask a mod to make it a sticky and then they can say yes or no to it. Even with membership levels that still can come back to haunt you on that.

Re: Sticky topics
The bank/shop stuff is going away soon so I will let people have fun with it for now. Any stupid sticky topics will be unstuck.
For the list you are talking about, lets wait until after the site update to create it as some things will change then. I feel stupid for repeating this so much but it is very soon. I have 4 items left to finish before it will be ready. I ran into some technical problems on two of them that are holding me up.

Or you can reread my first post and see where I said exactly that. :P

@Kong, Bank shop is going away for good or being redone?
And don't worry about the site update, it gets done when it gets done. I don't speak for everyone but I'm sure they all understand.

Re: Sticky topics
@dudebro I know that I read it I was agreeing with your point in the first post and just saying that was a good way to have it done.

Re: Sticky topics
I am thinking shop will be gone for good. At least temporarily gone and only to return if some ideas for really good items are had.

I think having a shop is a good idea. Forums can get stale after awhile, having other options keeps it interesting. Are you planning on making all those options be standard in the profile? Like Name bold, color, ect? The problem with the current shop/bank is just how inaccessible it is. For months I didn't know either exsisted.
@Count, glad we agree that I'm right. ;D

Re: Sticky topics
I agree with Duebro on the stickys.
The bank should stay, but we need more color change items there. Right now, we just have the option of changing our name blue or orange. How about red, green, yellow, grey, black, etc.?

Re: Sticky topics
@dudebro Well, at least we can agree on one thing at least ;D
@kong Why not in the shop have some hidden avatars that you can buy that way you can get something that no one or very few people have.

Re: Sticky topics
@ afireinside: You keep smiting me for no reason, & all I did in the first smite comment I gave you was help you through the forums with some advice. That's all I was doing. If you have something against me, PM me about it. The way you were smiting me was totally immature.

how about you can buy status for a high price to go up in status from newbie to jr member and so in you could add that to the shop.
|
Maybe for a really high price. Say 1,000,000 - 10,000,000.

Re: Sticky topics
video, how long do you think that it would take to get to 10,000,000 even 1 million is alot of time and energy on here to get that amount of points. Even if you wanted to every time you bought one you would go back down to zero points and then have to start all over again. That would get old really quickly and I think that no one would be able to reach that goal.

Re: Sticky topics
What I was telling Afireinside is that people should get status through the number of posts, not through a shop.
And I think the post count should be:
50 for Jr. Member. (25 is too easy)
150 for Full Member
500 for Sr. Member
1000 for Hero Member (can be more)
