I'm gonna take the topic back a few subjects if I may, to the whole Blu Ray thing and downloadable video.

Am I the only one that would hate to see downloadable video become the easiest and best option for people to buy movies? Not only do I fear a lack of hard drive space, but I love my DVD collection and just like having something tangible.

I guess I did feel the same way when records switched to CDs, and I wasn't even born yet...

Fun Fact: I have a larger record collection than most people I know that were alive when the format was thriving.

Yeah I got a huge amount of DVDs, I don't wanna have to switch over to something new already.

Hopefully newer stuff will play DVDs. It's not like VCRs and VHS tapes, you could drop those down a flight of stairs and have it for 10 yrs, still working. DVDs and the players are fragile.

i have to give it to the wii, that virtual console is pretty impressive game wise. the ps3 downloadable games pretty much stink, oh well maybe i should get a better job and buy all 3

Just read this post. While reading this thread, I was thinking the entire time, "What about the SNES, GB (GBA, GBA:SP, etc, etc.), and the good old 64. Nice to see that someone mentioned them. I, for one, will stick to the classics.

1. Sorry gonna have to disagree. Until Nintendo puts out some really good games then it's wasting it's potential.(I own a Wii so I know this from experience).
2. I wouldn't say horrible, just overrated.
3. It does have too many shooter games but they are damn good ones. Besides, it does have alot of good non FPS games too.
4. I agree, but it's unfair to compare them. Consoles aren't as powerful as a PC, yet.

6. Nope, final fantasy tactics is slightly better.

2. PS3 has mostly crappy games I do not like. 360 has all the crappy games I do not like.

probably really late to this but, i have to say, you guys dissapoint me. get a ps3, just get it. I have the original 80 gig motorstorm bundle and I can say it was the greatest six hundred dollars Ive ever spent. The wii sucks to impossible limits, and the 360 is the most overrated peice of garbage ive ever seen. THIS IS NOT COMING FROM A FANBOY! If you dont believe me, twilight princess is in like my top 10 games of all time, and gears of war is amazing. You really should stop bashing the ps3 now that im back around, because anybody who says it sucks will have the fortune to be straightened out by moi. And if you dont believe me, take a look at what I did to the knuckleheads at EVG.

So let me get this straight. You ask that we just get a PS3 because you think it's awesome. Then you insult the systems we like. Then to top it off you threaten us about bashing a system the majority of us dislike? And you expect anything good out of that?
Did I ever tell you that I hope Sony goes out of business? They deserve it for releasing such an overpriced system. If they make a PS4 and it's over $1,000 will you buy that too?

First of all, I am defenitely not a fanboy. Second of all, I didnt ask you to get a ps3, I told the guy who started this thread to get one. I apologize if I wasnt so clear on that. Third of all, if sony released a ps4 and it was over 1,000 dollars, I might buy it, but I would have to consider all the features it includes first. And how can you wish that sony would go out of buisness? Theyre the best in the buisness! The ps3 is not overpriced. It is perfectly priced for all of its features. It is the cheapest bluray player on the market, and it also has more features than the 360, with a library of almost all quality games.

As someone who owns and plays all 3 systems, this is how I see it:
I play my 360 the most. It has nearly every game I would ever want to play on a PS3 and then some. It also has way better online than the other systems.
I play my Wii when I have people over, so it gets alot of play too. The Wii should be a great system, so it is too bad that it lacks great games. I really don't play my Wii by myself. The virtual console is a pretty cool feature, but I have a hard time buying games that I already own on an older console.
The PS3 gathers dust. The PS3 is a fine system, but it has 2 disadvantages. The 360 has better internet service (even if you have to pay for it it is still better) and the PS3 has VERY few games that are any good that are not also on the 360. I may be biased because I don't like Metal Gear and dudes get really into that series (pretty much all my friends love it), but the only reasons I have found for playing a PS3 thus far are Metal Gear Solid 4 and Uncharted: Drake's Fortune. I am looking forward to Little Big Planet a lot, however.
For me the Wii is on a different level than the other 2, so you can't really compare it. The PS3 and the 360 are the same console with different games. The PS3 has Metal Gear and Drake's Fortune. The 360 has Gears of War, Bioshock (though that is coming to PS3), Viva Pinata (not for everyone), Ninja Gaiden 2, Saints Row and some others.
Thought really, I don't like dudes bashing any consoles, because they are all awesome. If you have a PS3 you still get to play a ton of awesome games, because there are tons of awesome games for 360 AND PS3.


As for playing blu-rays, that's all fine and good. That is a great feature. But I want a machine that plays video games. I'm not quite ready to start buying blu ray discs for my movies, and when I am there will be some pretty cheap options out there I am sure.

But I digress...can't we all just get along?

Gears of War 2, Fable 2, Saints Row 2, Banjo Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts, Left 4 Dead, and Animal Crossing: City Folk are all awesome looking games that you will notbe able to play on your Playstation 3.

haha forgot about this thread, bought the ps3 a few months back and its great, have hardly came here, my girlfriend has assumed the role. i am annoyed that bioshock has just come to ps3(downloaded demo, great game). killzone 2 is all i am really waiting for, besides gow4 and the new street fighter. its funny how a certain game will make u loyal to a system. i was big time nintendo guy until tony hawk came out and i totally forgot about nintendo. the $199 360 makes me want to see what i am missing over there. still don't want the wii. can find the virtual cosole games elswhere if i want them. incidently, has anyone played the new megamen 9 on ps3 (dl?
