Finished off Final Fantasy 8. It was pretty good but the plot just goes off the rails and gets insane.

I was really lost on what they were going for with the story. The beginning of the game seems kind of okay, with the anti-aggressiveness theme but it gets so bizarre that it ends up being some weird odyssey with a nebulous story telling direction.

Yeah it's definitely a more fun perspective on the game but obv it's not what the developers had in mind.

Anyways I'm 67% through Metal Gear Solid V. It's been a very bittersweet experience.

Still trudging through Xenoblade Chronicles. About 50 hours in and still having a lot of fun with it. I've been doing every quest I can. I'm really enjoying the battle system and how intricate it is. Hopefully I'll have it finished up by the time Xenoblade Chronicles X comes out

After 42 grueling turns, the woefully underleveled Guild Doki Doki has finally slew the Harpuia that lies on the 20th floor of the Yggdrasil Tree. "Cause we're boss like that."

The most famous guild has returned to High Lagaard to rest at the Flaus Inn, barter with the Sitoth Trading Company, run some errands for the Stickleback Bar, and manage its aptly named restaurant, Dysentery. After such it will again plunge high into the 21st floor of the Yggdrasil Tree to further map out uncharted territory.

Once again, Doki Doki Guild has saved Etria.

After completing Story Mode I made the mistake of creating a party for Classic Mode. I quickly realized that any party an EO veteran like myself could make, makes the game so much easier than the underwhelming party you're stuck with through Story Mode. I feel its mostly a combination of the newer games having "modern conveniences" and my own understanding of the mechanics. None the less, this was my sixth Etrian Odyssey game and I'm excitedly looking forward to Etrian Odyssey 5 and Etrian Odyssey 3 Untold.

Now I've started up New Super Mario Bros 2 that I got as my Platinum award.

Yep. It's more Mario. Now with more coins.

I got Xenoblade Chronicles X for Christmas. I'm having a lot of fun with it. It's gorgeous and I've spent the majority of my time just exploring. There's something awesome about seeing a really tall cliff far away and actually being able to get there. The OST is fantastic as well. My only problem with the game is the strange text UI that is really small. It's annoying and I can't see how the developers let this go through. I noticed this immediately when playing, I'd imagine the testers would've commented on that.

Also I finished up Xenoblade Chronicles. Beautiful story and OST. Total time was 110 hours and I didn't even complete it. Maybe one day I'll get back to it.

Paper Jam finally comes out in America today. Will hopefully pick it up sometime in the afternoon after I wake up. Got a few good days to play it before classes start up again.

I've been playing Yakuza 5 quite a bit, I'm really digging it. I keep getting super side-tracked by, well, side missions and stuff so it'll probably be a while before I finish.
