I hate how every issue involving whatever ends up a race issue . it'll never stop.

It's the victim card, it's not a race issue, things are being done under the guise as a catchall excuse. 3 of the 6 arresting officers were black, including the officer with the manslaughter charge.

I've had a less extreme example happen about 7 years ago. Was working at walgreens and a lady wanted to use the restroom and I said not allowed and she went off on me saying it's because she's black. I hate that "card". It just drives a wedge into people which causes others to stereotype another which it never ends.

How soon until people backpedal on the race card?

I only brought it up because Tenser is claiming the guy is guilty of something despite the lack of evidence to the contrary.

@Tenser. If he is a United States citizen then he is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Innocence, guilt, race, riot etc doesn't matter. The only issue is are cops above the law or not.

@Race card. I don't think this is ENTIRELY about race. It is about poverty, the failed war on drugs and prison lobbyist. The legal system sees poor neighborhoods as piggy banks to be busted open. Police see them as a pain in the ass and quota fillers. Poor neighborhoods have higher percent of blacks than whites and sometimes cops make assumption based on that percent. But that racist assumption isn't the problem. This problem rarely extends to rich black people. Whites in those neighborhoods have the same issues. It is a poor American problem.

Parents that beat their children are surprised when their children are rebellious and show zero respect for authority. Police are the parent in this analogy.

Mom smacks rioting son, drags him away

I was 'beaten' in this way by family, teachers, and even a janitor when I was being bad as a boy; it taught me what pain is, and that there are lines which should not be crossed.

Re: Baltimore, Ferguson, and Racism, what do these three things have in common?

I'm glad this topic has garnered the reaction and discussion it had.

I would partake in it but my stance on the matter is pretty clear to anybody who has chatted with me in the past.

Which is to say like two people so like.

Re: Baltimore, Ferguson, and Racism, what do these three things have in common?

My opinion is pretty simple, honestly.

Regardless of whether or not Freddie Gray was innocent and regardless of whether or not it was racially motivated, the fact of the matter is that a person in police captivity was killed under their watch, purposefully. Yeah, the majority of the cops charged with the murder were black, so that rules out the possibility of it being racially motivated but -- like I said, Mister Gray will not be seeing anybody anytime soon.

I think this is more police brutality than it is a race issue, and the rioters in Baltimore and even Ferguson are somewhat justified in their actions, but I don't think that it should have gotten to the level it did in both.

Even if the majority of protestors were peaceful, the media focuses on the angry ones, and those are the ones that matter, unfortunately, to the general public. I can guarantee you if the entire protesting force was peaceful, we wouldn't hear about it until a cop pepper sprayed somebody.

At the end of the day though, just don't. Just don't assault police officers, just don't riot in the streets for any reason (your team lost, a cop killed a black guy and you think it's because of race, your mom wouldn't give you your blankie), just don't hate, just don't kill. And yeah, I know, these issues run deeper than "just don't" and it'll take a helluva lot more than some guy on a podium saying that over and over again, but a man can still be hopeful.

Whether or not it's counted as being naive, I don't care. I think that we're the better race (humans, not white people) in terms of learning to accept one another and what-not if given the chance, but if we're constantly being berated and treated like animals by those above us in seats of power, and even by those we consider neighbors, we'll tear ourselves apart faster than a pair of 10 dollar jeans from Wal-Mart.

Re: Baltimore, Ferguson, and Racism, what do these three things have in common?

You would think so. But unfortunately, whenever I voice my opinion that's even something along the lines of supporting the cops or even supporting the rioters, I get absolutely crucified for no reason other than "lol ur naive" or "lol ur st00pid".

Which is why I tend to stick to playing games nobody gives a crap about anymore and drink green tea all god damn day.

Well, you are stoopid and naive.

Personally, state your feelings. If someone doesn't like it and it's within the rules thats their problem. I'd rather see a meaningful post like yours than the typical "lol" replies anyday.

Preach on!

Red:

I for one find your posts well - worded and based on common sense.
As Tails pointed out, members posting on this forum are free to speak their mind within the boundaries of the site rules.
Frankly I think well - spoken people like yourself need to express themselves now more than ever in this age of disinformation and deliberate confusion.

Those people are either 'trolls' {people whose entire internet contribution is nothing but put - downs and shut - ups} or still asleep, meaning they're still watching Faux News and believing all the lies that Vanderbilt asshole and his buddies are spouting.

Me? - I can't shut up about the global Police State / New World Order and the inbred, psychotic, child - molesting, drug - dealing bankers who are making it happen.
No matter what the issue at hand, whether foreign or domestic, economic or social, I see them as the root of the problem and blame them wholly.
SO, as a consequence I come across as a 'broken record' {which I own and acknowledge} but my point is that I feel strongly about spreading the word about this.
To me, global awakening is the most important issue.

And if someone wants to put me down and call me a 'hippie' or say that there is no NWO and it's all made up by conspiracy theorists like myself, or any number or other things including unintelligent put - downs such as 'your stoopid' etc. then they can go right ahead because time is proving the NWO is in fact real, in ways we can all see.

And if it is real then, Red, I think we ALL better speak our minds NOW, while we still can and to hell with what these other people {trolls} say in reply.

Honestly, Joe, you're one of my favorite members on this site, because you stick to your guns and preach when given the chance to preach.

Even if I wholly disagree with your message, you at least do it in a way to make the people you're preaching to not feel bad. So kudos on that.
