I wonder how aware he is of the publics perception of him. That might explain why he is a jerk, although he might be oblivious, I know people who in real life actually beleive they are Gods gift, when in actuality nobody can stand them.

He's aware and he chooses to embrace it. He claims The Room was intentional comedy, obviously it's not. I give him credit for not backing down from his dream though. He wanted to be a successful celebrity and now he's got it. At this point why care what people think about you?

When I saw him at a screening he ran down the line of people waiting to buy tickets giving hi fives and he was hyping people up. Most people in his position wouldn't do that. He's got balls.
