RU Awards '14: Nominations

It's that time of year again when we give props to the best of the best of RU. You have until January 3, 2015 to put in your nominations for each of the categories. Keep in mind that these awards are for 2014 only.
Credit to Seahawk for writing the award descriptions.

Best Mod - This is the moderator who you think was the most helpful, who you could count on to help you solve your problems the most.

Trophy Thief - This is the player who consistently steals trophies from you and everyone else, who you expect to find the PM from saying "Your score was beaten by XXX".

Trophy Defender - Opposite of a trophy thief, this is a player who's score you keep on beating, only to have him/her come back and post a higher score constantly.

Best Forum Participant - This is the user who you think made the forums the most entertaining and lively.

Best Newcomer - The new member (their first post must be in 2014) who you think made the biggest positive impact to the RU forums or the arcade.

Retro Uprising All Star - To the member whose contributions in the arcade, forums, and chat room have made RU a better place. This person is the Sean Connery of RU, they set the gold standard in skills, wit, sportsmanship, and intellect.

Funniest User - This is the user who always seems to make you laugh.

Most Impressive Mastery - This is the player who beat that game that you thought couldn't be beat, but then someone did it anyways, sending your jaw dropping to the floor.

Most Impressive Score - This is the high score that you think is the most impressive overall for the year, a score that in your opinion will stand for a very long time.

Best Newcomer - I don't know about Forums, because that is very subjective and the forums aren't overly active. I would give my vote to exedexes. That guy is the king of shit games.

Retro Uprising All Star - I'd say Wolf. His competitions and generosity are bar-none.

Funniest User - Well, duh, me. If you can make yourself laugh - you're funny.

Most Impressive Mastery - Whoever beat Barbie. Hats off to you.

Most Impressive Score - I'd say none this year.

Best Mod - Seahawk. I wrote the descriptions for the awards while I was a mod and they're still being used.

Trophy Thief - Seahawk. If I played games still I'd take scores. Rating myself 10/10 at this.

Trophy Defender - Seahawk. Most of my scores are over 1000 days old, some getting close to 2000.

Best Forum Participant - Seahawk. Should be obvious.

Best Newcomer - Seahawk. I'm still using the same computer that I used the first time I logged in. This counts.

Retro Uprising All Star - Seahawk. 20% more all star.

Funniest User - Seahawk. See: this post and Best Forum Participant.

Most Impressive Mastery - Seahawk. I beat Third Strike that was pretty hard.

Most Impressive Score - Seahawk. I streaked 10 wins on Third Strike at the arcade a few months ago.

Ummm... really? That score didn't even finish the game, I've since submitted a 2.2 million score that did. But honestly I wouldn't even consider that in the top 3 scores I've submitted in my short time here, but hey whatever floats your boat...

BBH - you should nominate some of your best ones.

That goes for everyone, too. If you have done a score or a clear that you are proud of, nominate it. It could have slipped through without many people noticing.

Best Noob: Exed Exes, He got to the top 3 in one year.
Best Score: My Donkey Kong 3 Coin Op 6,635,300 score. If this site lasts a thousand years, this score will still be in the top 10.

Most of what I would nominate has already been done so I just have a couple I'd like to add.

Best clear: BBH's 1942 and Cosmo Gang the Video.
Best score: BBH's 1942. I know he'd say this isn't a good score and he can beat it but to me this is an ass kicking score that I could never hope to achieve. Look at this way, if this score wins this year, you can up it again next year and win back to back.

Best Score: Barra's Stocker.
