The Flair Flop was always funny, but I always preferred Greg Valentine's. Rather than do a quick face-fault like Flair, Valentine would wobble in place for a second, then slowly fall face-first like a tree just got chopped down.
Anyway, just watched RAW (thanks to work and my lack of patience for commercials I watch it the next day), and I gotta ask why does the WWE put on a better show Monday night than on a freakin' PPV?
Highlights & Thoughts:
- Bad News Barrett is out for months with a dislocated shoulder at the hands of Swagger from SmackDown. Now the Intercontinental title is vacant and will be decided by a battle royal at Battle Ground. I'd like to point out that Swagger also gave Dolph Ziggler a concussion last year. Dude really has to stop hurting people.
- Speaking of Swagger he's challenging Rusev. I am really excited for this because I've been anxious to see Rusev in an actual wrestling match. I just pray they don't have Swagger get squashed so Rusev can look that much more powerful against a former champion.
- Jericho returned... and got pummeled by the Wyatts. Not sure where they're going with this, but Bray vs. Chris could be an interesting match.
- AJ Lee also returned and got poetic justice against Paige by suckering her into a title match and winning. So AJ gets a title, Jericho gets clobbered. Somehow that doesn't seem fair. Also, the crowd gave a MASSIVE "CM Punk" chant when AJ came out. It was funny seeing the two gals try to not acknowledge it.
- Sheamus will be holding a "US Title Challenge" on SmackDown (since it airs on the 4th of July and all). Don't know where they're going with this or what exactly it means, but I guess we'll see.
- Damien Sandow's character for the night: Vince McMahon (the show was in Hartford, CT, which is near the WWE's headquarters). Damien does a really good McMahon impression, actually. Stephanie is understandably pissed about it and brings Khali out of mothballs to squash Sandow in one chop. I have no idea why they're keeping him around at this point.
- Dean Ambrose has promised he'll be ready to attack any time Seth Rollins tries to cash in on Money in the Bank, and he made good on it. Rollins tried to cash in after Kane attacked John Cena, but Ambrose attacked before Rollins could win the belt. Didn't they do this same storyline a few years ago with The Miz?
