I have no qualms about doing so where the site is concerned but this is not an RU contest. This is a Wolf contest. Fortunately for me (unfortunately for Wolf), Wolf works for RU. That sounds like the best option.

Either ban the technique, let everyone max the score and waste their time for a tie, remove the game, or replace the game.

Removing the game solves the problem and punishes RU for picking a game that can be exploited. Seems fair.

I'll speak from team AA's point of view, and no I'm not speaking for everyone, but I think we'd be happy for the game to be replaced with something else. We've been going a week give or take and 3 teams have so far entered scores for every single game in all 5 positions. Changing games but not altering the length of the tournament shouldn't be an issue as far as I'm concerned.

It's not the sort of game I'd personally max out, but I'm sure we have a few players who could do it if they'd be bothered. My skill level aside, if I could do it, I doubt I would - this sort of scoring just doesn't interest me in games.

Do! Run Run Issue

Hey guys, just noticed when playing Do! Run Run using Wolf .150 I get 5 lives regardless of what the DIPs say. I have issues with .150 with reset (F5) not working, so I can't try that. So I loaded it up in RU and it's 5 lives also even though the DIPs that have been listed state that it is 3 lives.

Just checking if we are all playing 5 or 3 lives.

You'd be playing on RU no doubt? I can't get either the Full or Score modes to play 3 player on RU, nor can I with my local MAME install of .150.

How does RU work, does it use your current MAME version and just loads the ROM?

We found that changing the coin chutes to free play gives three lives instead of five. If the global decision is made to play with five lives, please let us know so we can switch back.

I don't see it that way. Currently DKF has the best scores on this game. Removing the game punishes them, not us. Feel free to remove the game from the standings and you will see how it helps us and hurts DKF. Not a fairplay move IMO.

Team Epigroove is split down the middle on what to do with Nitro Ball, with a slight edge towards removing it. I think we'd be fine either way.

Just a heads up to anyone who has been using three lives for Do! Run Run, the RU version is set to 5 lives. According to Wolf (via Tim Vanderkolk), we should be using the 5 lives setting. This is different from syscrusher's originally posted ROM settings (post #189 in this thread). Wolf, can you please confirm this publicly for all the teams?

Every team can max the score by searching for the trick on youtube. It is easy. 5 people from RU can easily do it. I suck at this game and I can do it.

Letting RU pick a replacement game helps RU and seems slightly unfair. That is what I meant by punish.

Leaving the game in as is let's everyone tie for first place. Seems like a pointless waste of time.

Banning the technique would work well. Since we aren't using INPs that would require the honor system.

Either that or make a list of about 5 to 10 games and have a poll with all members from all teams. We can see what DKF would like to do.

Nope. Just using mamefx .153.

So 5, then? Damn. DAMN GINA.

I think we should either give everyone max points on nitroball or remove it. Max points doesn't really hurt or benefit DKF.

That's actually a good idea, Just go ahead and max out the score for everyone. If you look at it either way the scores are going to change if we go with that or remove it all together.

I vote remove the Nitroball game from the tournament and let DKF pick a game since they were leading it.
