I don't think any harsh punishment is necessary. The money lost was already being spent, and police are just downright evil. It should stop after they figured out it was a prank. I don't think the kid will do it again either way, I'm sure the state threatened him with armed guards and a prison cell. Why waste more persecuting him.

Oh you're one of those people who irrationally hates all cops huh? Well regardless of how you feel this kid did waste a lot of tax payer money that would not have been spent otherwise. They aren't just joyriding around in the swat vehicles and helicopters. Besides that there should be consequences for doing something wrong. Letting him get off light would tell people it's not a big deal. It needs to be harsh and public to be effective.

Well I don't think you know even close to enough of my beliefs to call them irrational, although I guess your one of those irrational people that call other people irrational irrationally? I don't like police because they are wrong. One person does not and should not have power over anyone else. They are the right arm of the rich and do nothing but impede upon personal freedoms. If you have your faith in them that's your deal but don't call mine irrational. There should be consequences of doing something wrong that isn't enacted through a system like we have. The judicial system and policing system are wrong to me. If his community of neighbors and shop owners want to get reparations from him or his family financially or otherwise they shouldn't have to go through some state appointed system to do it. As far as a waste of tax payer money, as if the police are not one within themselves, I do not condone the payment of taxes or the enforcement of paying them. You could argue the point that STATE taxes are logical to pool money to get funding for whatever, roads, schools, etc. although I find that idea ridiculous as well. But to say all the money goes to what you think it does is a lie. Charity, as well as anything your money goes to, is best done by your own hand. I am against the wasting of money but the wasting of funds that go to the police is AOK with me and if there wasn't a victim in this (the kid who got pranked have gangsters in his house trying to nab him) I would applaud him in what he did. If you are upset your money got wasted without you wasting it then figure out who is responsible for that.

On an interesting side note do you think the state should have such power over what people think is good or bad? I mean, if they kill the kid they will think he deserved it and if they don't do anything everyone will think its perfectly fine what he did? I hope that's not actually how it happens. Maybe a detailed report of what exactly the consequences of him doing this were so people could decide for themselves how bad it is? I agree that most people are bass ackwards and cant think for themselves but I don't think state and federal regulations and enforced norms are making it any better if they weren't what caused these people to be so ignorant in the first place.

I just feel strongly about my views. Yeah he's probably scared as all hell. I doubt there is any chance he'll serve time but I'm sure its something that could lead to jail time in different circumstances.

I don't understand the snip. But that's kind of a lapse of reason. If I needed police I would call them. But I don't and wouldn't so yes, I can handle it all by myself, whether or not its by myself. You would rather give up your rights to feel safe than take responsibility for your freedom? That's what its all going to boil down too eventually. People are either going to take responsibility for keeping their freedom or roll over and let the state corporations rule them. If they aren't already. That is my argument. No one needs police. The idea is wrong. If you and your friends banded together with some guns and took calls to protect your neighborhood so be it. If you and your friends decided you were powerful enough to do whatever you want and go steal and pillage whatever you want then that's all up to you. Id fight for your right to do so, as well as fight for everyone's right to try and stop you, or anyone's right to do anything. But to have the state appoint these all powerful authoritative figures and brainwash public opinion to say they are always right and you follow an order before you think for yourself isn't ok at all. They should be disarmed and disbanded. Not to even get into the idea that martial law is coming. It just always amazes me when people think they need all this b.s. from their governments. We're human beings, the most powerful thing on this earth that we know of, and you feel the need to be coddled?

I have no interest in entertaining your fantasy world where bands of regular citizens can police the communities. I've talked to other people who think this way and it all boils down to them not wanting to pitch in towards the community(taxes) and them thinking they're Rambo and don't need any help(until they do need help of course then they call the cops). I prefer to live in reality where we have a group of people who are paid to keep order and keep us safe. Call it what you will but it's far better than your wild west dream land.

I am an anarchist and I believe in everyone being able to do literally anything they want good or bad and it is up to the individual. A dozen previously unknown works created by Andy Warhol have been recovered from 30-year-old Amiga disks.
The art experiments were produced in 1985 by Warhol under commission from Commodore - creator of the Amiga computer.
Commodore paid the artist to produce a series of works to aid the launch of the Amiga 1000.
A painstaking three-year project was required to recover the images which were saved in an obscure data format.

I am going to dump a lot of my funds into BTC, and I advocate moving your money away from USD. I don't think you should use BTC unless you are well accustomed in making your funds very safe, because there is a lot of knowhow and it isn't easy. I, luckily, have had a type of mentor to help me through the processes in the past. I am also going to buy enough food, in MREs, to hold out for awhile, seeing as if something drastic like this does happen, I'll be able to eat without paying $40 for a loaf of chemical bread, not to mention the organic food I try to only eat. Thoughts?

The big problem with this economic system is that prices and values don't reflect actual work and social values. Those who own and/or trade business don't work in them and vice versa, which is wrong because greedy persons essential buy and sell others' labor and profit, which ultimately leads to economic collapse, due to which lower workers lose their jobs despite that they caused none of it. If more persons have less money, fewer persons spend more and the economy slows.
