Unable to use controller on RU

Are you interested in using TeamViewer? Not really.
What is your OS? Win 7
What is your browser? Firefox
Post a link to one game you are having problems with. Any game on ru
What Play Mode is causing the problem? Both arcadeox full and score
Has it ever worked correctly before? Always worked on old comp, only worked for a very short time on this comp.
Describe the problem. When i try to config the controls in either mode on ru, it acts as if my controller is not there. The controller works perfectly fine on things like Steam games and emus I downloaded.

One thing to try is to make sure you connect it before you load any game. Mine won't work sometimes if I don't connect it before loading a game.

Plug controller in.
Make sure it is working - use Windows Control Panel or another game like Steam.
Load a Coin-Op game.
Press Tab to bring up the menu.
Change the controls and manually set the controls to your controller.
Does that work?

Windows recognizes the controller and says it is working properly, and when i tried to play a game on the nes emu i have, it worked perfectly fine. Although when I come on here it acts as if my controller isn't a thing. This is the same controller that worked on my old comp, by the way.

FWIW, Despite my extreme dislike for the browser, Internet Explorer is the only one that seems to work for me. The current versions of Chrome and Firefox both are a no go on the site with joy2key for me.

Also of note...even in IE, I have to manually start the games before taking over with the controller(ex. in arcade titles, I have to coin up with space, start game with "Enter" before using the game pad. On NES the same is true...I have to start the game by pressing the "Enter" key which then allows me to use my gamepad after the start has been acknowledged).

The above is no bother though as I'm beyond content in being able to actually play after having the same difficulties you describe in Chrome and Firefox...

Have you tried deleting then re-installing aox? It's fixed issues for me in the past, maybe try re-installing an earlier version of Firefox? Any problem I've ever had has been solved by one of these methods.

Bumping this in case anyone else has a similar problem in the future to say that alexgunslinger found out the solution, if Steam is running you cant use controllers on ru for some reason

Confirmed it worked for me too. How did you figure it out AlexGunslinger?

Btw I wanna add that you can't just put Steam in offline mode you gotta go all the way and log out.
