the consumer of the new era is what people or company's focus on . they use the ideals and the things people did in the past to make the future products better . its all about taken and tweaking things from the past and making newer products that we will love .

apple did it with the ipod . they took the idea of the sony walk man and mp3 players that were out at the time and made there product superior in every way .

i think we see in video games . xbox did it with xbox live case and point . they took the online that was out on older systems and turned into the xbox live we love today .

company's that don't focus on todays consumer usually fall be hide and are doomed . but as i say that i should also say company's that leave there longest consumers behide also fail . you need to do both to be successful . never change things that work and sell very well.

To be fair, Nintendo does put out a lot of new franchises. Some do well, some don't.

So how is the online with the WiiU? I think if one thing is gonna hurt them it's being the only console with a terrible online service. The Wii was just pathetic in that regard.

@BH- There's some stuff I don't like about that service but overall I think it's good. I suspect the other two will "borrow" some of the more social networking type features. It's a shame Nintendo didn't do this with the Wii. I think that debacle really turned off a lot of people and they won't give them a second chance because of it. First impressions are rough like that.

If I felt I were wrong, I would consider your grump demand; but I believe adamantly that Steve is the kind of guy who could hate on anybody so long as they're an ambiguous target. It's not surprising that he would speak ill of all North American consumers.

I criticize that because it's a huge part of modern gaming. Companies can either embrace it or fall behind. Imagine how much better the Wii would've done if it had a great multiplayer component? Obviously they realized their mistake and made it better on the WiiU. If they didn't care about that they didn't have to bother.
