What if
This topic is about hypothetical situations, there are no wrong answers. Answers can be really stupid, but not wrong. Well I guess they could be wrong if they are off topic but you get the idea.
The first situation we'll be jawing about is zombie apocalypse! So what would you guys do if you found yourself dealing with zombie hordes?

Breed insects, probably flies. Zombies would be pretty vulnerable to any winged critter that eats decaying flesh.

Get a Katana and a Crossbow. Fight my way to the Oceanside, get a boat and live on the waters....

Re: What if
@DN- Interesting idea but it doesn't seem practical. How would you control them?
@Chrisp- Assuming you can find those weapons what would you eat once you're on the ocean? Have you ever went deep sea fishing? Would you be eating it raw?

Are you really prepared to face life and death at sea though? Or are you waiting out there till' things calm down a bit?

You wouldn't control them, you can only hope that your facilitation of the buggers will help boost their numbers in the local ecosystem.

Unsure where to go myself. Perhaps stay in my room until things calm down. Wouldn't make it I know but yeah.

The fishermen would probably be able to return to the shores whenever they please.
I imagine that the astronauts were mentally braced for a situation in which they couldn't return home.

Re: What if
Well this died quick for some reason.
If I found myself in this situation I'd stay put in my house and try to ride out the initial panic and chaos. Toss furniture down the stairs to block them(I live on the second floor) and ration what little food we keep on hand. Once the food got low I'd try to make a break for one of the many supermarkets nearby and see what's left.
If things dragged on for a long time with no hope of recovery I'd flee north to Maine since it has tons of land with no people for miles and it's not Canada.

Re: What if
Since they are undead, and where I live is almost always freezing cold, whatever liquid in their bodies will freeze and they will be greatly slowed. Really as long as they dont attack in May, I'm good.

I for one would welcome our new undead masters. Nothing else has worked so far so what is there to lose?

Re: What if
Ok new topic since this one didn't take off.
What if you found undeniable evidence of intelligent alien life. Revealing this information would almost certainly cause panic, civil unrest and even war. There would be no way to avoid people dying in one way or another. Would you tell the world or not?

Re: What if
so, does the fact that multiple ufo's being witnessed every year for the past 50 years not pass for intelligent life already, and the majority of mankind ignores it, and laugh in the face of those who don't?
if finding out there is life out there more intelligent than ours is going to cause panic and war, it proves what a backwards civilisation we are, and deserve to not hold the top spot.
to be told this information and panic is stupid. if it's true, they must realise the AI has been there for centuries already, and never bothered us in the slightest...
i mean, are there really people who believe that our planet is the only rock in the universe out of countless millions to be the only one to have things moving about on it??
i would tell the world, and then they would all turn on pop idol again....
on the other hand, every one of our own governments already "certainly cause panic, civil unrest and even war."
bring on the aliens!!!!!!!

Definitely tell. Solid proof of intelligent alien life would have to be THE biggest discovery our species could make.
However the vast distances and technical problems involved with interstellar travel would mean - I think - that initial contact with 'ET' would be soley by electromagnetic signals. For decades, if not hundreds or thousands of years. I think there'd be a massive cultural exchange whereby files for art, music, literature etc are swapped, with entities on both sides learnings the cultures and languages of the other. Best of all - what games do they like to play? The easiest 'electronic' games to transfer from one star system to another would have to be those easiest to emulate, meaning the earlier games from a civilization's culture. Yes, that's right (and I am quite serious), I'm hoping that one day we will be able to play emulated retro games made by aliens. And conversely, aliens will one day be kill-screening Donkey Kong and having their own high-score leagues.
I'd like to coin a term for the study and play of games of alien origin - "Astroludology". (So far it's a rather theoretical science.)
