Re: NFL
@SJB- Here was hurt all last year and it's been pretty much known that the Colts are releasing Manning to get Andrew Luck with the number one pick in the draft to be their next franchise QB.

Saints are the worst team to go to a this point. First franchising Brees, who did not want that to happen, then the bounty controversy coming out.

Re: NFL
Peyton hasn't played in a long time and has had some serious neck surgerys. He will be rusty and out of shape you don't want him. Besides there's really only one option for him. He has to go the way of Moon, Culpepper, Favre, and Mcnabb. He has to go to The Vikings to die and be forgoten.

Manning is in Denver today to talk about a contract.

Cross Washington off the list for the Manning sweepstakes...
To Washington: #2 pick in 2012 draft next month
To St. Louis: 3 1st round picks(2012,2013,2014) and a 2nd round pick(2012)

Re: NFL
Way too much for one guy, who will probably be Robert Griffin III.
The Redskins only problem isn't QB, by far. So I don't know how they'll build around RG3 with barely any draft picks for the next three years.
Jets extended Mark Sanchez contract for 3 years, so they'll be out of the Manning sweepstakes.
So Jets and Redskins are out so far lol.

Re: NFL
I believe of the teams that are "in the running", the team that makes the most sense is Phoenix. Offensive weapons, a defense that is getting better, indoors, plus, you get an extra indoor game against St. Louis.
The team to me that makes the worst sense is Miami. The best weapon on the team is a very tempermental receiver, ok defense, but why would you want to play in a division where you have to play New England twice, plus go to Buffalo and New York. Financially, it makes sense, no state income tax in Florida.
I don't think they are going to put it on the table, but if one team was going to make an offer, the one that makes the best sense is the Houston Texans. A lot of offense, sick defense, indoors, plus, it is in the same division that he (Manning) has carved up for years, plus a chance to stick it to Ursay twice a year. Plus no state income tax

Re: NFL
It's fun to speculate but I think he ends up in Denver. Great young defense and pretty good receivers. I hear that he and Elway are buddies and that Elway could use future ownership in the franchise as another incentive. The only way I could see him going to either Arizona or Houston is if they are willing to trade their current QB's. In todays NFL with the salary cap, you can't afford to spend that much money on one posisition. Which is the reason most teams have crappy back up qb's these days. It will be interesting to see how this one shakes out.

Re: NFL
The NFL is taking $10 million in salary cap away from the Cowboys and $36 million away from the Redskins for improper contracts during the uncapped year.
They can split the difference any way they want over the next 2 years

Or cut them.
In Arizona, they paid for the old backup in Philly, Kevin Kolb, who they ended up benching last season anyways...and Manning is an upgrade.
In Houston, Schwab was hurt most of the year...and Manning is an upgrade.

Re: NFL
I think Tebow can actually benefit from Manning going to Denver. Manning would probably be there for like 3 years and Tebow can learn under one of the all-time greats while serving as a backup for Manning in case he goes down (which he might, plus I don't see Peyton playing all 16 games)

Yeah. 5 consecutive 1,000 yard seasons. He has had some problems with teammates apparently
He is united with Cutler, who connected really well with him in Denver

Salary dump, he had some off the field issues(he has borderline personality disorder) and he did not get along with the Dolphins last 2 QB's.
