Re: Steam, its games and our players.
I got an even better sniper kill. I saw DM trying to be all shady on my teams side of the map. I headshotted him, got a domination and an achievement!

Re: Steam, its games and our players.
Nice, I been struggling with the bow recently, I had to switch to the rifle.
I hate how I can never say at my peak with each class, but I bet that's how
it is for all of you guys.

Re: Steam, its games and our players.
I finally crafted a class specific hat. Thanks to BS2 for hooking me up with several items today and thanks to the glitch that doubled one of my items.
Hotrod - Official TF2 Wiki | Official Team Fortress Wiki
Not exactly one I would've picked if I had a choice but at least it has two different looks, up normally and down when building/hauling stuff-

I'm such a freakin noob...how do you build stuff with an engineer? Also, does anyone play Magic the Gathering? I just downloaded it today and got hooked.

Re: Steam, its games and our players.
Build and destroy are like weapons, 4 and 5 on the keyboard respectively. So to build a sentry just hit 4+1. Then wack it with your wrench and make sure you have enough metal to keep upgrading it.
Is Magic free? If not meh. Oh and DM, SJB and I were loling at you while you were playing it. Dork.

Re: Steam, its games and our players.
Sorry that was meant for Joz, SJB and I were laughing at him for playing Magic.
I got this hat-

If one of you wants it make me an offer. It's not usable in crafting so it's not worth a ton. I already have that new hat for Engineer so I don't need it. Don't wanna just give it away though.

Re: Steam, its games and our players.
Magic is free. Why you guys hating on Magic? I was never all that good at these FPS. I like them and they're fun, but I rarely get more than 2 kills without getting fragged myself.

Have had bad experiences with it, or are you just assuming that it's a Call of Duty clone/typical FPS?

Re: Steam, its games and our players.
@Joz: You just have to practice, I'm sure with time you'll get good.
I guess I'm not as bad as I thought I was with the bow, I got 6
consecutive headshots on the third section Dustbowl.
Today I decided to Spy, and I got the enemy teams all worked up. In the
second section of Dustbowl, where there's a long corridor to the spawn, an
engineer was setting up his sentry/dispenser, and I started calling him a
spy to scare him. It worked, and he started shooting in front of him, and
I sneaked around him, backstabbed him, and sapped his buildings.
Another game for 5 minutes I was screwing around with the enemy, killing
them off occasionally, but doing stuff like appearing right infront of
them or shooting them from a distance, but they left their point
completely open and I caped it on my own. They came to the point right at
the last second.
@Tenser: What's so bad about TF2?

Neither.

I really dislike the FPS genre, especially the online player(s) vs. player(s) component of said genre.

You're probably not missing much in that case, as TF2 has a somewhat hit-and-miss player community. I still think that you should at least try a game before you associate it with crap though.
Anyways, I'm about to try out "APB Reloaded".

Re: Steam, its games and our players.
You probably aren't missing much in not playing TF2 if those are your feelings, but it isn't a kill/death ratio focused everyone v. everyone shooter. It is focused on teamwork and meeting objectives.
I don't think you can classify it as crap without playing it once, though.

Yeah, I've always respected the fact that they don't offer a Team Deathmatch; it forces people to apply themselves to games that actually rely heavily on teamwork.

Re: Steam, its games and our players.
I'm calling it crap but it's just my opinion. It's fine if other people enjoy it. I'm sure I like some games that you guys would waive off as crap as well.
It's kewl.

Re: Steam, its games and our players.
I think the problem is not so much your opinion, but rather the fact that you formed it without playing the game at least once.

Re: Steam, its games and our players.
@Joz- I'll try Magic if it's free. I just make fun of it because it was a dorky fad when I was in high school or around that time. It's got the same stigma D&D has really, which makes sense given it's origins.
I downloaded Poxnora to try but never got around to it, let me know if it's any good.
@DN, SJB, DM- I don't know why you guys are bothering wondering why Tenser said that, he's been pretty clear he hates all FPS games. His opinion on them shouldn't be taken very seriously. We know TF2 is a great game.

Re: Steam, its games and our players.
@ DB; yeah I know Magic is kinda dorky, but it's really awesome once you get used to the gameplay. It's a strategy game mixed with the luck of the draw. Poxnora is really bad ass. It has a FF Tactics feel to it.

Re: Steam, its games and our players.
If I can tear myself away from ME3 I'll check them both out.
So no one wants to trade for the cowboy hat? It's worth like 6 weapons or so but I'll cut friends a better deal.

There are some things I can trade for whatever reason. I don't know what they are, though.
I'd be willing to trade some of the stuff I can.

Re: Steam, its games and our players.
@Joz- Sorry but you'll have to sweeten that deal a little. Are you even a premium member yet?
@DM- If you want it for trade I can work something out with you next time we're both on. I posted it in the Steam trade section but it's not a hot item and I'd rather it go to someone I know will actually use it and enjoy it.
