Nintendo is in a rough position regarding reviews. On a lot of their games they get slammed if it's not like the old games, and get slammed anyways if it's like the old games. The Zelda series especially has that problem.

It's also a question of people's expectations. People honestly don't really expect anything new in a Call of Duty game aside from new maps and multiplayer modes.

True, the thing about Kart 7 though was what did he expect? It's got 16 new tracks, new racers, Nintendo's best effort to date for online options, a few new power ups, the hand gliding and underwater parts... he offered nothing in his review as to what specifically could have made the game less repeditive, did he want an entirely new game, or did he want a Kart?

Here's the thing, a review is a subjective matter. If the guy doesn't like it, of course he'll give it a negative review. His review should have no bearing on how much you enjoy the game. Contrary to popular belief, a five should indicate an average game, as five is the mean and median of a ten-point scale. That's the problem, reviewers can't even grasp that basic mathematical principal.
So, I think reviews should either use the ten-point scale properly from a mathematical standpoint, simply list pros and cons, or use a five-point scale.

Actually, I feel "professional" reviews are not good in the first place. If a company provides a review copy, it will score better. If a company includes a check with the review copy, it will score better based on the amount of money that check is worth. Basically, there is no honesty in professional reviews, just greed.
User reviews aren't much better, as people will usually only write a review if they really like it or really hate it.

I agree that reviews these days are always to be taken with a grain of salt, but a good reviewer needs to be able to look past any personal bias and give the game a fair review. For example I might not enjoy the Kirby series at all, but I still need to give it credit where it is due. If the Kirby game has a nice artistic style, solid gameplay, appropriate challenge ect. then I would need to give it a good score. Giving Kart a 5 when it excells in so many factors is just wrong.

EA thinks people will pay a subscription fee for Tetris on iOS. For the low, low price of $2.99 a month or $29.99 a year, you can be part of the T-Club. The Sony Vita will offer no internal memory. This will nearly mandate that users purchase external memory cards for the Vita. The catch? The flash memory cards will be exclusive to Sony and cost extremely more than a standard flash SD card would. Ranging from $30 for 4GB to $120 for 32GB.

I was thinking of buying a Vita when it came out. This and the fact that it's only half a system without a PS3 to communicate with changed my mind.

I think it's really stupid of Sony to release a handheld that requires integration with a PS3 to be fully functional. They're segregating the Vita from potential consumers by doing so. I'm predicting this things flops quickly if they do not make changes.

I'm curious as well. All I know is it can link with the Ps3 for remote play, as does the PSP.

There have been rumors it can also remote play all PS3 games.
