Re: Most aggravating enemies (and bosses) ever
The mushrooms take away a strength point which you can get back with an antidote, no big deal. But later on there is a guy that takes away a max strength point which really sucks.
I think the dolls take you down to 1 experience point below the previous level. So they really suck when you are about to level up, not so much when you just finished leveling up.
And the guys that make you confused and walk in random directions suck because they do it when you are surrounded by other strong enemies and you can't really avoid them.

This one's obvious. Mike Tyson from Mike Tyson's Punch Out. Took me years to beat him as a kid.

King Metal Slimes from Dragon Quest VIII
Not only would they hardly ever show up, 99% of the time they will run away before you can kill them

Re: Most aggravating enemies (and bosses) ever
Jinpachi Mishima, any boss from The King of Fighters, Geese Howard.
The most aggravating enemies are the bosses from fighting games, especially Jinpachi Mishima from Tekken 5, that dude still aggravates me almost to the point of tears.

Re: Most aggravating enemies (and bosses) ever
Did you see the trailer for Tekken Tag? Looks like he's playable or at least a boss of some kind.
Also Heihachi either got some Just for Men or he's many years younger somehow.

Re: Most aggravating enemies (and bosses) ever
I have seen the Tag trailers, it looks good. I don't know what to think of young Heihachi, I think they just did that because his voice actor died or something, and if he's younger, a new voice makes more sense.

I'd like to play as Jinpachi, but they probably wouldn't give the player the super-powered purple-nightmare boss-type Jinpachi.

Yeah but if he's this much younger and his sons aren't then the story is probably gonna be even more convoluted than previous installments.

Psycho Mantis was always an boss, until you called the Colonel.
But I'm surprised no one has mentioned this yet:
At least I beat Mike Tyson.

Quick man and crash man from mega man 2. Those guys were just impossible for me to beat. And I just couldn't even GET to quick man.

From what I saw, Kazuya looks a bit older than he did in Tekken 6, which means he looks about the same age as Heihachi.
Hell, Heihachi didn't look that young even in the first Tekken.
On topic: The End was a frustrating boss in MGS3, especially when he absorbs nature's life force or something, and regenerates all of his stamina. It isn't a hard fight if you use lethal means, as you can use a sniper rifle and all kinds of things, but relying just on CQC, stun grenades and the MK.22 was annoying. Then he regenerated his stamina.

Re: Most aggravating enemies (and bosses) ever
@Katz- I never played that game but I've seen that character all over the place. In fact I think I saw him in person, can you double check for me?
@DM- Maybe Heihachi finally got access the devil gene? I always thought it was weird that he seemed to be the only male in the family who didn't have that power(even Jinpachi seemed more supernatural than him). Could explain his regression. Or they just don't wanna kill off Heihachi so they mangled the story to shoe horn him in.

Re: Most aggravating enemies (and bosses) ever
Most aggravating bosses for me were Death in Curse of Darkness and Etna and Laharl in Disgaea 2.
Etna and Laharl are aggravating because you aren't allowed to beat them without getting a bad ending.

Jinpachi: Able to turn into super-powerful purple demon with mouth on stomach, and super laser powers. Able to destroy Earth.
Kazuya: Turns into Devil
Jin: Turns into Devil Jin
Heihachi: Mild electric powers, more for show than anything.
Heihachi is pretty much a strong old man, and the others are super-powerful demons. For some reason, it doesn't make sense that the Devil Gene skips a generation.

Re: Most aggravating enemies (and bosses) ever
Heihachi is definitely more than just a powerful old man. He survived a point blank explosion that destroyed the building he was in and set his body miles away. He brushed that off like it was nothing. I don't think they intended for him to have the devil gene but he's got some kind of mystical powers for sure. He's not Wang.

Re: Most aggravating enemies (and bosses) ever
The Creature for Castlevania Portrait of Ruin. Hard enough as a boss fight, since he can shoot electrical blasts at you, and has machine guns and rockets under his elbows, but in the Nest of Evil, you fight two at once.
From the same game, Cave Trolls. Only found in the Nest of Evil, they are the most dangerous non-boss enemy in the game. They move fast, and one hit from their tongue can do more than 200 damage. They also have a close range electric attack that does 200 damage per hit, and you get hit by this attack three times in a second. You find like seven of these in one room, right after the two The Creatures. Not fun.
Again from the same game, Gold Skeletons. They can take several hits to kill, their bones do around 100 damage, and if your on Sisters Mode, all your attacks only do 1 damage, and they have over 100 health.
