Dragon Warrior 3 is the better game imo. RCR is awesome too but it just didn't have the same impact on me.

I'm not trying to troll, I'm just curious, but what is it about Dragon Warrior that you enjoy?

All of the early Dragon Warrior games were a little dry and unrewarding to me when I played them. I realize that not everyone feels that way, but I just didn't care for it much.

I'm actually replaying DW3 atm and it's far from dry and unrewarding. I think RCR is much more of a shallow experience by comparison.

It's a fun game that doesn't take itself seriously yet hides a well tooled RPG mechanic behind it.

I'd probably pick DW3 if I had played it, but I haven't yet. Therefore, RCR is my pick.

DW3 all the way for me. It gave me way more long lasting enjoyment.

I completely disagree that it was dry. I loved how it introduced class changing and how if you brought a goof-off to level 20 you could create a Sage. (Best class in my opinion.)

Meh that goof off thing isn't worth it imo. The early part of the game is pretty challenging if you don't farm for countless hours, having a worthless character on your team just makes it worse. You get one sage class change item anyways so unless you want two of them it's pointless. I also heard that a certain enemy can drop the sage book, but I'm not sure.

I would wait until later when I could level up the Goof-Up quickly then convert him to a Sage.

That's reasonable but it still doesn't seem worth it. I remember leveling one years ago and it was amusing but the novelty wore off quick. I'd rather have a merchant giving me more gold.
