Well, this isn't too much fun personally this year. I really did most of everything yesterday. Right now, I am sitting here trying to think about what to play and preventing my dog from crying and barking out the window at everything

Me and the wife decide to just go for a drive, we went to one area and saw about 2 kids... I was really upset thinking that Halloween was dying off. We went and ate quiznos, then tried a different are and low and behold there were kids everywhere. Seriously like a group of kids at 1 of 3 houses, it was sweet.

Oh yeah, we also saw a guy taking a picture of his pumpkin snowman, the head was a pumpkin and the body was snow.

Funny, I saw something like earlier today. Wasn't real, unfortunately. We amazingly did not get any snow here this year, traditionally it's cold as hell.

We handed out
Eggs
Toilet paper
Salt
A water gun
Matches
Habaneros
DVDs
PlayStation 2 games
Costumes
Jars of horseradish
Sparklers
Brownie mix
And candy.

We let the kids choose what they wanted.

We told the kids that the habaneros were really hot peppers. I was surprised that between the choice of a Scooby Doo DVD, candy or habaneros that a kid would choose a hot pepper. The peppers went pretty fast.

I hope Everyone had a wonderful Halloween this year and it was lots of fun.
My Canadian fireworks turned out to be better than I thought they would be and I had a great time trick or treating with my daughter.

I think we got 'enough' candy since no one seems to be as interested in it as they used to be {which is a good thing, people are a lot more health conscious nowadays}

Now to start planning for next year!

Some 30 year old lady took the toilet paper and she wasn't dressed up and didn't have any kids and she started trying to grab everything and we had to run her off.

The kid that took the water gun also tried to be grabby and take everything, we had to run him off too.

The first kid to arrive was a 10 year old. I told him "we have horseradish and ranch dressing, which do you want?" He turned around and walked away without acknowledging that I existed. No polite "No thank you" or inquisitive "Do you have candy, sir?" or thoughtful, "hey maybe my mom will trade me some candy for some ranch dressing." Just a "You are dead to me" dirty look and a fast turn and run.

Some kids took a couple eggs and left. They came back two minutes later asking for more eggs.

2 adults said they were collecting for their children that were sick at home. IMO, if you are an adult, you can not trick or treat without a costume. You can go to the store and buy your kid some sugar, you don't have to go door to door begging for it. At least get in the spirit and dress up.

My son decided half-way through that he wanted to stop going to houses and start giving out his candy. This idea was completely his own and he had more fun giving away his candy than he did collecting it. That doesn't seem like usual behavior for a six year-old. It not only made me very proud of him but it also felt like our parenting was being reaffirmed.

I know in this world brownie mix and potatoes wouldn't of been taken. Though, odd for a Game and DVD to not be taken. Unless parents were assuming you were trying to give their kids porn.

Sounds like you had the best night.. =/ for me I worked, had this girl in a bumble bee outfit come in but that was about it. For my house though, noone ever tirck or treats there, they go somewhere else.

I wouldn't dream re-giving out my candy back then.

Yeah, that does seem odd for a six year old, I'm sixteen years old and I still like to go out and collect candy.

But hell, that's a good kid. He will probably grow up to be a good man, or a child molester, as they love to give candy to little kids.

That's pretty ingenious, Kong! +1 for providing a creative assortment of Tricks and Treats. I bet that kid was stoked to see someone passing out eggs. I know I would've been.

This odd assortment reminds me of a funny Halloween prank my Mom pulled while she was in college. They had a bunch of trick or treaters in their area and she and her roommates ran out of candy. Instead of turning out their lights and shutting things down, they started putting scoops of ICE CREAM in kid's sacks. I can only imagine the kid's reaction!

I guess that's what the kids get, after all they did give the options of 'trick OR treat'.
I can't remember getting too many tricks - except one time I got a rock wrapped in a candy wrapper.
It took forever to eat and tasted awful.

Ha, this reminds me of another strange house to trick or treat at:

... where they gave out 6 - paks of beer.

A little late but w/e. Halloween is one of the only holidays I like. I'm pretty easy going so I don't mind dressing up and making a fool of myself, last years beared Umpa Lumpa is a good example. This year I didn't have time but I did see a lot of adults in costumes but I was at a casino so they were all going to clubs and such. Speaking of that some of the tools from Jersey shore were holding a best guido/guidette contest and the grand prize was like ten thousand dollars or something. That was probably one of the lamest parties imaginable, not worth the high cover charge.

@Tenser- It's nice to hear your kid isn't greedy about the candy. I also gave out my candy once as a kid but I was forced because my dad left our porch light on and we had no other candy left. That was a sad halloween indeed.

@Kong- You're lucky the cops didn't pay you a visit. Where I live they actively stop kids and confiscate eggs, tp, ect and you have to visit the station the following day to claim it(yeah right). This happened to me one year and the cop didn't believe us when we lied and said it was stuff for our houses!

Also offering matches to kids is a great way to become an accessory to arson or worse. Consider yourself lucky for real.

We stole some kids candy one year, and I guess they followed us back to our buddies place and the cops came and took all our candy, even the stuff we acquired legit.
