Sega's answer to Punch-Out!! Fight 5 different boxers on your way to becoming the Heavy Weight Champ.
The arcade cabinet looked like two cabinets glued together with two monitors and two sets of controls that looked like plastic brass knuckles. The double cabinet/monitors allowed you to play two player games and both still have full screen first person perspective. Both screens are emulated by default. Hint: press Tab then select Video Options then select Screen 0. That will hide the player two monitor.
Title Fight had two joysticks (gloves) and a start button. No other buttons. The default controls are E/S/D/F for the left glove and I/J/K/L for the right glove. Plus Space to insert a coin and Enter to press start.
Very short game with only 5 different opponents. The biggest selling point is the gimmicky controls that simulate actual punching long before Wii Boxing and Wiimote came around.
Nice, I edited the controls to use the left hand with the d-pad on the controller. was a little easier. thinking about it though, I should configure it to my controller and use both analogs.
I remember this game being pretty fun in the arcade. Don't give any hints just yet!
I managed to win my first match just by random punching, but I remember there are definitely some important tricks to utilize with the controls. Good game choices so far, Kong.
Punch-Out was definitely a much more rounded, better game. Punch-Out was kind of like a puzzle learning the moves of each person and how to beat them. In this you can use the same strategy on each opponent.
Small hint - this is just what you would learn if you saw the arcade cabinet in real life.

Both controls in and down = block body.
Both controls in and up = block face.
Both controls out = show boat.
One control Up = jab.
One control In and Up = uppercut.
one control Out and Up = hook.
Both Left = dodge left.
Both Right = dodge right.
One control Out = cock fist - I don't think this does anything.
You don't have to press anything to get up after being knocked down. It is automatic.
"My mind is my weapon. My brother has his sword, King Robert has his warhammer and I have my mind... and a mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone if it is to keep its edge. Thatโs why I read so much, Jon Snow."
This game was designed to be a button masher. Don't play defensively or strategically. Just punch as fast as you can for as long as you can. Don't use jabs, blocks or dodges.
