8 million, but I just decided the time I had wasnt enough to, become competent at the game, then become good at the game, then master the game. Anytime I spent on it would ultimately be wasted.

@ECInc2XXX. I enabled score mode in Home Improvement. You can pick it or Terminator 2. Let us know which one you want. You can pick the other one after the first challenge is finished.

You were the best Bagel, I was seriously paranoid about my Salamander score during the challenge, I was always thinking you were holding back a surprise score to submit at the last minute, and you did, you were only short by 40,000.

Thank goodness for all of that score optimization beforehand =).

Yeah, that one was close. It burned me up a little because we both died on the same screen of enemies, but you had racked some nice bonus points prior to that. Hats off to you on that amigo! Very nice work.

I still can't figure out how to get past that screen =/.

Typically I die when the 8 or so groups enemies instantly spawn in a circle around your ship and crash into you 0_o;. Then I lose my laser power up and I can't kill them fast enough without dying two more times....

Too bad that there is no extend bonus on default DIP settings.

Yeah. It's tough for sure.

I'm glad you issued the challenge because I had never played arcade Salamander. I played Lifeforce on NES when I was 12 or something, but I had to learn the game. It was fun to play.

Problem on Crab Volleyball. The game will not save scores. I checked the game and all the settings are right.

The challenge will have to wait until this is fixed.

Kong, do you know how to correct this?

We have another problem.

Retro Uprising - Arcade - Terminator 2 Judgment Day is endlessly farmable. Enemies respawn forever and there is no time limit in place, so it can't used in DOTC.

ECInc2xxx, do you want to change to a different game?

Retro Uprising - Arcade - Quartet (8751 317-unknown) doesn't seem to start at all, but instead goes to a black screen in both Score Mode and Full Mode.

@ Richardstewart, did you test this game and get it to work?

Also, if someone has the chance, can you test this and verify if this does or doesn't start. If it doesn't start, that one will have to be removed too.

With the proviso that I am correct, this is what the queue looks like now:

Just tested it with MAME on my computer, MAME indicates that:

Half correct.
The game's PCB has a protection unit (315-5194.mcu) which is not yet emulated.

I tested it on 2 versions of MAME: v.0128 and v.0134.

The game booted and worked on v.0128 with warnings that the protection unit was not emulated, as well as for the bad ROM dumps.

MAME v.0134 refused to run the game at all, again with warnings of the unemulated protection unit. It showed the black screen forever, just like on RU.

I do not know which version of MAME Retrouprising uses, but it must be later than v.0128.

Okay then. Thanks for testing it. Unfortunately, the game will have to be turned off until it can be fixed.
