I've been trying to download a couple of mods but they don't seem to be working. Can someone walk me through the process of getting the mods on Minecraft? Because I've tried what I learned through googling it, but it didn't work.
"My mind is my weapon. My brother has his sword, King Robert has his warhammer and I have my mind... and a mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone if it is to keep its edge. That’s why I read so much, Jon Snow."

I notice that using mods with MC can be a touch - and - go process; many times starting over with a fresh .minecraft folder again worked, while having done the same things I did the time before.
Other times, restarting my computer and then starting the process again worked.
Some mods seem to conflict and so what I do there is group working ones together within their own .minecraft folder.
I realize there are other ways but this method allows you to drag and drop the entire game with the desired mods installed quickly and easily.
Copy and paste your latest work back into wherever I got it from, then load up another combo for some different fun.
Mystic Dragons + Better Dungeons, More Explosives + Village Change, etc.
As long as I keep them separate where NEW blocks are introduced, such as with the Shelf and Furniture mods I find I can copy and paste save files safely and use them with different mod combos.
Certain mods do not work for me at all, such as the Dr. Zharks MoCreatures = I tried so many times and still no luck.
I know this isn't mod related but for me it's just as confusing so I figured I'd post here. Can someone explain how to use the programs for the HD texture packs? What's a good place to download these packs? Recommendations for packs is welcome too.
@db Minecraft Texture Packs | Download Minecraft Textures this website has a guide on HD texturepacks I believe, I usually grab a few packs off here to text out, the simple craft one is interesting, and some of the darker RPGesque ones you find on there are cool.
