Mega Men vs. Grumpy Old Men vs. Shining Force
in Team Contest III - Elimination I

This is a contest for teams only.

Each day a mod will post a game genre.
The following day a mod will post the game selected from the previous genre.

Each team has 24 hours to select a player that will represent their team. If you do not post a name within 24 hours then a mod will randomly select one for you.

A player can not be picked again until everyone else on your team has had a turn.

The three people chosen will have 24 hours from the time the game is posted to set a score. The players can submit as many scores as they want but only their highest score in the 24 hour period will count.

The person with the lowest score is eliminated from the contest and can not play again unless they are called back in.

In case of a tie the first person to submit a score wins.

If a team is down to their last player and that player gets first place then they have 24 hours to call a team mate back in.

Repeat until two teams are eliminated. The team that survives will win a badge.

Bonus Games
If your team completes a bonus game then they can call one eliminated member back in.

Take a screen shot of the game ending as proof of completion.

Save states are allowed in the bonus games. If you already have a save state for a bonus game before this contest starts then it will be temporarily removed.

The Bonus Games
1. Phantasy Star II - Genesis
2. Shining Force II - GG
3. Blaster Master - NES
4. Bard's Tale - NES

Each team can choose to reject one of these games within the next 48 hours. If you reject a game then that means it will not be used as a bonus game by any of the teams. It is completely removed from this contest.

All of the mods will have the advantage of knowing the order of the games. The mods have been instructed to not share or use this info to their advantage. Do not ask them for hints. The mods should only tell their team what genres they are good at and when they free time to play and let their team decide when they will play.

Why would anyone want to get rid of Bard's Tale? The only one I know of that is well practiced in western RPGs is me and I don't have the 80 hours to play one.

I am surprised that Blaster Master is still kicking on that list though.

If more than one person on a team beats the same bonus game does that team get multiple call backs?

Hey! I'm well practiced in all rpgs! I was kinda bummed it got taken out since I didn't play this one growing up.

I love Might and Magic. My brother and I used to play the old ones for countless hours. I loved the freedom to explore and all the cool characters. The Might and Magic games were usually just awesome in general.
Wizardry was cool too but it was alot less fun for me. Both games are similar but Wizardry was hard and unforgiving. It was challenging but I got tired of it.
I can't think of any Sword and Sorcery games so I'm not sure if I like it. The description on wikipedia makes it sound like something I'd like. Is that what Bards Tale is like? I only got to play those games breifly so I'm not sure.

but you cant use the same person 2 times untill your whole team has gone.

On the bonus games, is the team that finishes it allowed to (for lack of a better term) "bank" the call in?

Example: I beat Bard's Tale on Friday. We have no one knocked out as of that day. Are the GOM allowed to hold on to the call in until they want to use it?

The simple answer to you question would be no

and you would not want to bank it anyways because you can only call someone in if all of your other teammates are out and you get first place in your round

example your the last person on your team. you play the round and get first place you could call tenser back in. then tenser gets first next round. he can not call someone back in because there are 2 people on your team.

@wanman. Benched players are people that have already played but not eliminated. They have to wait until everyone on their team has a turn before they are active again.

@Sabby. Yes. You can hold onto your call in.

I say one completion per game per team (so a max total of 4 call backs by bonus game completion).

Max of three now - Bard's Tale is out.

I'll let everyone else decide but I am ok either way. These game's aren't push overs. It will take some effort to beat them.

to keep it fair I would say each team should only get 1 call back in from game completion

but it goes to the first team to complete the game

and if the same team completes all 3 games they only get 1 call back in but blocks the other teams from getting any.

say we finish PS2 first we would get 1 call back then we finish SF we still only have 1 call back
but SF and GOM can not get a call back for those games. But GOM finishes the third game before we can block them then GOM has 1 call back in and MM has 1 and SF has 0

I don't like that. I think every team should be able to get 3 call backs, one from each game, and it doesn't matter if the other teams beat it first or whatever.

I think the rule should be if someone in your team beats a bonus game, you get a call back. 1 call back per game per team.

@wan nice score I am just curious on how you got that score...

my score was a perfect game making all the balls 1-6 and with out missing

you probably did your on the second round
