Re: Fighting Game Franchises
Yeah don't talk bad about Street Fighter. That game made fighting games as popular as they are today. It may have a limited amount of moves but that doesn't matter when the game is basically flawless.
Besides, all the other games may have more moves but that doesn't mean people use them all.
Trust me, I play alot of fighting games, the majority of players only use the 5-10 moves they feel secure about winning with.
Soul Caliber is one of the worst offenders. Ever play it online? Most people just spam the huge almost unblockable moves until they win or get you to ring out. At least with SF if someone starts spamming a move a skilled player can just counter and break them. Soul Caliber it's pretty hard to recover from moves that leave you pinned down and blocking.
Not to single out SC, I do love it. It's just annoying as hell to play online for the most part. I'm sure Tekken is just as bad.
Btw, I'd like to change my vote. While Tekken is pure awesome I'd like to nominate a underrated game instead.
BLOODY ROAR. I enjoyed that game more than any other fighting game. If you haven't tried it and you're a fan of fighting games I suggest you do. But only the first and second games, after that it went to crap.
