I don't think it was dirty, Richards looks like he made it worse for himself by leaning back slightly before the hit.
Bolland was still out to destroy him it looks like, and would have hit him shoulder to shoulder if Richards didn't move, I just don't like that it looked like he was going high. It may have been he saw Richards turning and tried to miss him that made him look like he was launching though.
What about the Networks strong arming the NHL to schedule 2 games in 2 days? They are trying to ruin hockey. Too many in game and post period interviews, announcers encroaching into players personal space, cameras on the ice during warm ups, gtfo and leave the game alone...... The Pens are clearly the darlings of the Networks, getting the best announcers and preferred dates and times. Crosby is a whining bitch imho crying about the officiating. Hope he keeps pushing Chara after the whistle so I don't have to watch his overrated ass hog all the camera time.
LA shot their load beating the Sharks (shouldn't have happened) and Blackhawks should Major OMGWTFBBQ Kings this week no matter how good Quick plays. They woke up vs Red Wings and down 3-1 still looked like they would prevail. Funny that.
Bruins/Pens should be spirited now that Crosby and company are all butthurt. If the refs let them skate I am picking Bruins but if the League don't want the Glamour Boys out and they call it tight Pens should prevail. Let's see who prevails and what shape they are in before we pick the cup winners this year.
Well the Hawks have to play back to back because the Rolling Stones are at the UC tomorrow which would have delayed the game until Tuesday but the NHL needs to get the playoffs over in a hurry.

The Kings want teams to play the rough and tumble type of hockey they want to play. The Sharks did and it cost them.
As we saw yesterday, the Kings can try it but the Hawks have the speed to skate around it and make them pay. If the Hawks forces them to skate and do not let them play physical they can't handle the Hawks speed.
They had sufficient time to iron out the schedule but they chose to make Blackhawks/Pens play sat and sun. League letting cash dictate again. Epic Schedule Fail, no way around that. Should have had Pens/Bruins start on Friday May31 then every other day. Blackhawks/Kings on June1 then every other day. Done. The reason this didn't happen was Network Pressure so instead they end up with two games on Saturday with Bhawks/Kings having to play 2 days in a row. I call Bullshit when I see it.
I'm not complaining. It was one blemish that I hardly cared about. The teams have to play 2 days in a row sometimes. They're facing each other though, so both teams deal with the same thing. There is no advantage/disadvantage for either. At least we have a season.
"My mind is my weapon. My brother has his sword, King Robert has his warhammer and I have my mind... and a mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone if it is to keep its edge. That’s why I read so much, Jon Snow."
Art Ross(most points) goes to Martin St. Louis
William M. Jennings(fewest goals allowed as a pair) goes to Corey Crawford and Ray Emery
NHL Plus/ Minus goes to Pascal Dupuis
Maurice "Rocket" Richard Trophy(most goals) goes to Alexander Ovechkin
Roger Crozier Saving Grace Award(highest save %) goes to Henrik Lundqvist
Those are the ones based solely on stats, the rest are all subjective.

Hawks took it to the Kings and chased Quick to the bench.
We'll see how they do in LA, the Kings are a much better home team in the playoffs.
Good win for you guys. If you guys win Game 3, it's over. But Kings are very good at home so I really wouldn't be surprised if the series comes back to Chicago 2-2.

3-1 Bhawks sounds right but series going 7 games would shock the bejesus outta me. That very talented and well coached club learned a hard lesson losing 3 straight to an inferior team last round and I don't think they have forgotten. Yes Kings ain't lost at home in playoffs yet but as you said 3-1 hawks means they do drop one at home and they will get rolled by a juggernaut. Blackhawks in 5 !!! (maybe 6 )
I hope I am not the only one disgusted at Crosby's antics and little baby fit's in a convincing game 1 loss to Bruins. Crying to the refs, slashing for no good reason, trash talking, deciding to give up on breaking the shutout and sitting the game out in the box, taunting Rask, pushing Chara (what?). Great Game Sidney!!! Will he play any D? Is his coach really in charge of the team? Bad bad example by the Pen wearing the C two days ago. Hope he did a whole lot of growing up in the last 2 days. Would "The Great One" ever conduct himself like that, especially in a playoff game?
I don't think anyone really gets impressed with crosby's antics, because they suck. at least he's fun to watch in his element, but spoiled brat of a person.

Well, Oilers & Jets supposedly the two teams Elite Finnish Goalie Antti Raanta was to choose from. told my brother the goalie would pick a team that wasn't ever even mentioned. Picks the blackhawks. Classic Siberia Edmonton for free agency... Dang it. Really could have used him

For as skilled as Crosby is, I still hate him because of his antics. He's whiny and takes cheap shots on others then lets his teammates fight he battles for him.
For a guy who is one check away from never playing again with all his concussions, he should be the last guy running around giving out cheap shots.
Toews is as good a player overall if not better, but he doesn't score as much so no one cares. Toews probably could score a lot more if that's what he wanted to do, but he's a true leader and does what is needed. Toews did melt down in one of the Detroit games but it's a rare occurrence, unlike Crosby.
Gretzky didn't have to whine or take cheap shots because he had goons out there to protect him, like McSorely

We have no one in the pipeline worth a crap and Crawford is kind of old(he's 28 and was a late bloomer).
The current plan is get him over here and start him in Rockford next year. Then the year after see if he's ready to compete for a starting job.

Did you really just say that. I would take Crawford or Emery in a second. We haven't had an above average goalie for 10 years.
By in the pipeline I meant in the minors.
Emery is going to be on a different team next year most likely for cap reasons. His contract it up and he'll likely want and get more than the Hawks are willing to pay. Crawford's contract is up when he's 30 I think, and he shouldn't be getting a long term contract at that age.
All I was saying was we didn't have anyone in the minors ready to come up to back up Crawford or replace him should there be an injury.

I will correct you on gretzky. He whine and dove. Not to the same extent, but he did. He didn't cry though, and he didn't take cheap shots. He cried when he retired, but you can't really blame a guy in that instance.
Yeah, I see Crawford as fine. Congratulations of course, I'm just bitter that this is happening again xD At least we got Schultz and Belov (oh yeah, we got a top 6 giant defenseman by the way).
Need a goalie though. Khabibulin is likely gone, but he'd play fine if he wasn't (don't laugh, honestly, guys still a beast when he's healthy). Dubnyk is still a question mark. Much better season, but I don't think he'll ever be elite. Raanta has a good chance to be elite.
Our prospect pool for goalies is highly questionable, and could go either way. Roy & Bunz both were really impressive in junior, but now can't maintain .900 in the AHL, however the tandom got the ECHL team to the Cup finals. Got another goalie, Tuuhima or something that again, is a big question mark.
All I was saying was we didn't have anyone in the minors ready to come up to back up Crawford or replace him should there be an injury.
Ah ok. Isles have Poulin and Nilsson in the minors who are goalies but I really don't think either we be that special. If we can get an Emery or Bernier type guy, I would love that. Nabokov was good for us this year but he's getting old.
Isles need to get another defender or two. That was their biggest weakness. Also work on the Special Teams more. Keep Matt Martin. That guy was the X Factor for us last season.

In case you missed it he had his glove knocked off. As he bent down to pick it up Carter two hand chopped at his bare hand(some say he was hacking at the glove to keep it away, still stupid). Keith stood up and one hand swung his stick at Carter and hit him around the shoulder and the blade wrapped around and cut his chin.
Carter got no penalty and Keith got 4 minutes. He's likely to get a game off now.
yikes. dumb on Carter's end. Excessive on Keith's end.
No I didn't see it. I feel so hockey'd out for the most part honestly. That and I'm super busy with grad stuff. I'll watch what I can. Want to see these series turn into more of series though.

Had to listen to the game since I was working. When LA scored first I went "oh great, here we go again". I'm such a pessimist when I have to rely on the radio.
