Because up until very recently 99% of people were raised with the idea that women can't or shouldn't do stuff like this. All you had to do was say you weren't. But getting mad and rating me down even though I said it wasn't a personal attack is good too. Whatever I really don't care. Women will fight regardless of how uncomfortable it makes some guys.

You can criticize me all you want, but my mom busted her ass to try to provide me with the most that she could, and she most certainly did not teach me that women are inferior. She is a super woman and I don't appreciate people, who know nothing about her, belittling her efforts.
I apologize if you thought I was targeting your parents specifically. I meant raised in the general sense like being raised in a male dominated society.
So why is it unbecoming? Besides having a vagina and boobs how is it different then men fighting?

Okay well, as long as you didn't mean my mama.
I just don't like watching the ladies brutalize each other, aside from that the fights are not as good. I don't even understand what Dana is doing here anyway, there is 1 fight, and its for the title. Rousey will dominate Carmouch... and then what? Is there even any other women who have signed with the UFC? Don't get me wrong, it's not like I'm going to boycott the UFC or anything, I just don't really see the ladies fitting in that much. It's going to be interesting to see the PPV buys for this event.
As a sports fan, there are very few athletic events that I enjoy watching females more than males. Females are smaller, slower, and possess less strength than their male counterparts. NBA vs WNBA is prime example. You rarely see dunks in the WNBA. On the whole, women are less athletic than males and as result, it is less interesting to watch.
The athlete events that hold an excemption for me and in which I would rather watch females include figure skating, gymnastics, and curling.
I think the womens fight was the best one of the night. I missed the first hour but unless something big happened I'm sticking with it. You could tell they really wanted to show people how exciting they can be in the ring. That standing rear naked choke attempt in the first round looked brutal. It's amazing that she got out of that and won. The winning armbar looked like she was about to snap the bone before the ref stopped it. Brutal.

They have anywhere from 10-15 total women. Tate is fighting Zingano in April, and McCann/Alexis Davis are in a holding pattern. The other 4 aren't announced and Dana is signing 5 more soon.
It's only unbecoming because you were raised to believe women are inferior to men. That's not a personal attack it's very common.

"I don't want to watch women fight because I don't want to see women hurt each other. I don't mind men fighting though. They can beat each other up all they want. Doesn't matter" You just think women are inferior!
please tell me the logic behind this thought process. If anything it's because we hold women on a higher pedestal than men. Also, I didn't know you two have known each other since childhood and you knew how he was raised.
I just started watching mma stuff recently because why not. favorite fighter (from the free fights I've watched on youtube) is Forrest Griffon. Least favorites are Anderson Silva or Jon Jones.
Anderson simply because I find Muay Thai really boring to watch, and Jon because he always has like at least a 5' reach advantage and it shows. (not saying I have a problem with his fighting style, just that I find it kinda boring to watch)
Forrest is retired I think. I like watching Anderson and Jones, because I want to see them loose. They are both too cocky. Regardless, their fights are usually pretty entertaining.
My favorite fighter is GSP, probably simply because he's Canadian, but also because he's, i.m.o., the smartest fighter in the UFC. I love watching him make great fighters look bad because his game plan is so spot on, and always executed flawlessly.
Noooooo. =C with his fights you just knew there'd be something interesting happen. A cut here and there, some really nice punches, etc. That and damn he can take a hit and just smile at you.
huh. Well I don't know a thing about their attitudes or whatever. I don't bother with interviews or behind the scenes or anything like that. I just watch the fight. And I like fights where you can't immediately tell who's going to win.
Anderson (the few times I've seen him) just goes into the clinch and the fights basically over then (props to him, really. I just personally find it really boring.)
Jon's opponents (again, just in the few times I've seen him) just stay back and let him beat the crap out of them. I know it's hard to do, but they need to get close if they want to be able to hit him. I saw the fight with him and Rampage Jackson (or whatever his name was), and it was just so one sided. Jackson would just not get close or try to kick or anything, and he got destroyed. (I mention the kicks because he managed to get a couple off but then just stopped for no reason)

You need to watch more if you like Forrest over those two guys. Forrest can take a lot of damage and pull out some wins but he's not even close to their level. Here's some gifs to show what I mean-
Forrest ran from the ring after that jab knockout.
Silva is exciting. Some matches are boring because the other guy just can't touch him or even keep up. Jones has beaten some of the best and he's done it in champion fashion. He's easily one of the best UFC has right now.
For anyone who missed the womens championship fight-
Awesome defense, that lock was tight enough to leave teeth marks.
exactly. he's a goofy weirdo who likes to punch. and I appreciate that.
and you seem to misunderstand me. I don't like them simply because "they're too good". Their matches are over relatively quickly and it's normally completely one sided. That's just not fun to watch for me.
Keep watching fights, Forrest will get boring for you I bet. He's amusing to listen to though.
We all love a good fight. The appeal of someone like Anderson Silva is seeing if anyone can stop him. He outclasses people and makes them look foolish. He also gets training advice from Steven Seagal!
guess I'm just a stand and bang guy. I liked the Stephan Bonnar vs. Forrest fight. To be fair, Forrest is pretty predictable in when he's going to punch. in fact, most of the people when fighting Anderson are (from what I've seen). I think it's going to take someone who isn't only tied down to "what they know" to really beat him.
But as I've said before, I haven't seen that many fights.
The problem is they've thrown some really good fighters at him and they failed. It's not a case of him just beating low card dudes. He's got reflexes like Ali-
