Dragonball Movie
I gotta say, it looks hilarious, it doesn't seem to have anything to do with the series at all.
What do you all think about it?

Hopefully it spends a lot of time on extreme close ups and yelling.

Re: Dragonball Movie
Just looking at the trailers, I bet the first 30 minutes will be more like Dawsons Creek then Dragonball.

Re: Dragonball Movie
It seems to focus more on the reality of the life of a teenager, than his actual having superpowers, which appear to be more like the force than saiyan powers on the show. It also appears to have almost no references to the actual show besides the character's names. I would never waste 20 good dollars to watch a movie that will forever ruin my enjoyment of the show itself.

yeah, you're probably right... after all, what's appealing to most people nowadays? not cartoon spinoffs, that's for sure. dragonball would have to be "culturized" to be appealing to what most pre-teens/teens expect... i'm sure the movie capitalizes on some loose teenage romance...

Re: Dragonball Movie
I never got into the show and even I knew they screwed things up with this movie. It had potential to be something awesome....but someone decided it would be better to poop all over it instead

Re: Dragonball Movie
Bomb! (and the star looks like a D-O-R-K!)
Off topic, but still slightly somehow on topic: A Cowboy Bebop movie is rumored to be in the oven. I never thought I'd see the day. As much as I love that show, it had no good plot, just relied pretty much on random things episode after episode to keep the series going. But that's totally OK for a show. How the hell are they going to make a movie outta that!? Cook something up in the BS machine, I guess.

jk, that's kind of fine with me, as long as he isn't the no joke actor he always is, but animae movies are usually awful anyways.

Re: Dragonball Movie
for two weeks in a row, i've seen previews for db:evolution and each time i see it, i want to bash my head in.
this movie will totally taint all things that i love about dragonball. saiyan vs. saiyan fights, super saiyan, gohan, piccalo not being a complete scumbag, vegeta, and so on.
is everyone in agreement that db:z was the best part of db and this movie, which seems more based on the original db just takes away from the awesomeness of dbz?
btw, where is cannon-fodder krillin?

Re: Dragonball Movie
it doesn't come out in the states until this coming weekend, the 8th
edit, sorry, i guess it was released in april, the best theater closest to me is a drive in, they only get 2 movies per week, db is this weekend, not going to make it. btw, average 3 out of 10 stars on imdb.com

Re: Dragonball Movie
I saw this movie. I came out of it laughing hysterically because of how bad it was. I was seriously only like a little over an hour long. But i don't want to ruin it for those who haven't seen it and are going to.
