I probably did worse on those damned Ayako bosses, but you have to be Speedy Gonzales quick to get 100% (and 50k) on destroying them. Any less, even 96%, gets you only 10k or less.

Indeed, it is more fun to be able to do this here, where you can actually interact with your competitors. It is a lot like the high score tables at the shmups forum, except you can actually play the games here.

I wouldn't exactly call 1943 contested......the last score submitted to that board was in 2005 :P. I think we have more competition here, since the board has over 10 pages of scores lol. Although I'll admit that none of them are really recent.

I also agree competing for scores here at RU is a lot more fun. It really reminds me of the the days of the arcade when you would get a score, and then come back the next day to see if it was still top. You would sometimes run into the people you were competing with. A real adrenaline rush when you do get the top score.

My thoughts in a nutshell. I've been trawling round the arcade on here for over a year now. Had lots of friendly competition and thankfully not met anyone who takes life on here too seriously.

IMHO I think you're definitely good and dedicated enough though Seahawk to make a real name for yourself with the 'pros' on Twin Galaxies. If that's what you wanted to do of course.

That's phase 42 down there (I think), the game gives up tracking you after phase 25. You wouldn't believe how crazy this got, it pretty much became an electronic video pinball machine.

Edit: Wow, now I'm kind of cold now that the adrenaline wore off.

It took around 40 minutes, if I were in an arcade I think I'd ask for a stool to sit on while playing =P.

I verified your score and my eyes were hurting at around level 30. To last as well as you did 'til level 42 was impressive. I'm beginning to think you must be some kind of part human - part robot games machine.

Don't even get me started about that, the level of mania this game can get to is extreme.

Difficulty progression:
-Red fireball appears and bounces around
-Green fireballs appear and sweep the level you are on
-Slipice enemies come and freeze platforms
-Multiple green fireballs appear constantly whatever level you are on
-Icicles start falling from the top level
-Icicles start falling from the pipes too
-MORE icicles appearing constantly
-Green fireballs start spawning 2 seconds after the level starts

Really it was the combination of the endless green fire and the endless icicles that broke me. It got to the point where all you heard was the "BRRBRBRBBRBRBRBRBRBRB" of the green fire and "BWWOOOOOO" sound of icicles constantly forming. And then sometimes I made the mistake of killing the red fire-they just respawn immediately with double speed. I mean, it was nuts.

Ehhh....it's possible for sure, but you'd have to be *REALLY* good and have a good two or three hours of free time to pull it off. That's way too much time to reasonably spend.

It starts to get boring after phase 25 because the enemy patterns start to repeat. It replaces the level counter flags with the block that says "KO" but it doesn't give any congratulations screen, so looping the score is the only way to master it.

I'm good at this game but smashing the score counter is beyond me. If anyone does it my only reaction will be

And the high score on Twin Galaxies is over 4,678,440 XD. I wonder how long that took. Rounding up my score to 400k in 40 minutes, that is over 7 hours. So technically its possible but that's more time than I want to spend playing. Also I don't know if the score will roll or if the game will add the millions digit, so it could be that the rollover point is 10 million or more. I'll pass.

My score would put me at number 8 for the arcade version, so that's not too bad in my book

672k on the NES version of Tetris 2.

46 levels on high speed.
The game was slowly becoming impossible. And I don't mean that as an exagerration. Not hard, not very difficult, IMPOSSIBLE.
The level generator was placing blocks just 2 levels below the top. At high speed that means you have 1 second to analyze the layout before the first block starts falling. One mistake at the start and you are dead.
I'm pretty much done with this game, I can't see myself going any farther.

If only the SNES version were working too, I could work magic on that too =P.

Here's some scores I set this week that I think are pretty impressive.
Block Out 215312 3D Tetris. I'ld like some competition on this one.
Gain Ground 85120 Awesome game. Takes a little while to figure out why it is awesome but after you get the hang of it you will love it.
Kid Chameleon 69990 If you like Mario and think Battletoads is too easy then you will love this.
Evander Holyfields Real Deal Boxing 69101640 I could have easily gone much higher on this one but it was starting to make me hate gaming. I'll never play it again so if you take the score it is all yours.

I also set this one this week but I don't think it is too impressive.

This and the other D & D game are really fun, well animated games.
I've played right through each one {not in Score Mode, of course} and will once more some time to see all those great characters and backgrounds again.
I'm sure lots of you guys would enjoy them a lot.

Hopefully the new "Track and Field World Record is not BOUGHT by Steve Wiebie and Billly Mitchelle to further line thier pockets ( off the of what they cheated Tim out of his contact on KOK) while the dumbed down gamers stand by and knowingly watch and question nothing.. Yep./ a world record is broken so I expect vultures like Steve Wiiebie and Mitchelle to capitalize on it and leave the "real record breaker" out in the cold (and no money) so they can profiteer o fit! After alll thats what the KOK "documentary was built on .right.so its O.K with all you so-called gamers out thier.Watch the Dwayne Richards DOC's they expose what a fraud Billy Walter and Steve really are!
