December 9, 2009 - The latest, upcoming issue of Nintendo Power has revealed that Capcom is working on the official sequel to Mega Man 9: Mega Man 10 is coming to the WiiWare channel early next year.
This revelation of this sequel is completely unsurprising considering Capcom's strategy of producing many sequels once an engine is built (Mega Man Battle Network, Phoenix Wright, and Street Fighter II, anyone?). Mega Man 10, according to the preview Nintendo Power released on the web today, will use the same 8-bit style that Mega Man 9 utilized earlier this year.
Expect new levels, new challenges, and new enemies, like Sheep Man, a boss character that will shock players with its electrical attack. Mega Man will be playable as will Proto Man, but the preview teases a third playable character that's being kept under wraps.
Watch for more on Mega Man 10 for Wii in the coming weeks.
Believe nothing, no matter where you read it, or who said it, no matter if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense.
cool deal, i likely mm9, brutally hard, but for the right reasons (not because of some crappy control issues). good, challenging platformer, the way they should be.
I liked Mega Man 9, but I also never beat it. And I wouldn't buy Mega Man 10 because if I want to play Mega Man I will play 9. Until I beat it anyway, which will likely never happen.
Do you read The Fanboy Review everyday? Me neither, but I think that's about to change. Back on November 21st, a good two weeks before the news about Mega Man 10 broke,The Fanboy Review put up a pretty detailed post about the game. Some of what they reported, like the robo-virus storyline, the playable Proto Man, and continued use of the NES style graphics, turned out to be totally accurate. That makes the other stuff they mention, like 2-player co-op and Bass being the third playable (via DLC) all the more credible.
I was always so sure that it was roman numeral numbers.. but then again.. people have been calling
Megaman X, megaman X1.. Which would make X1- megaman 11? Oh damn im confused.. I just want to see zero show up and finally tie the two in series wise.. even though Zero wont have the sword yet..
hmm... you know what? never mind.. Id hate to see A non X version of megaman even damage Zero..

The Mega Man X series is a spinoff series of the original. Mega Man X is not the same as Mega Man X(Mega Man 10) so we instead call it Mega Man X1 to avoid confusion.
