xbox one controller issue
 

this is my first time having this issue with any of the emulators but my xbox one controller isn't being recognized by any of the emulators here when it was not too long ago, if someone could help fix this it would be appreciated

Make sure it is plugged in and recognized by Windows before launching a game.

What game/system/playmode are you trying?

Try a coin-op game, use the keyboard to insert a coin and press start and then see if moving the d-pad moves your character at all, that much should work without changing any of the default configurations. If not try pressing Tab on the keyboard to bring up the menu and see if you can assign any buttons to the controller.

Wasn't there an issue at one point where if Steam was active then the controller wouldn't work? Did that get resolved?

At one point fully closing Steam (from sys tray by clock) was required to use a game pad. That was a long time ago. I don't know what the current situation is but if having problems with a game pad then it's worth a shot to make sure Steam is closed.
