Feedback, Questions and Answers for Game Club Challenges
Post questions and comments about the Game Club Challenges here.
If you want to talk about a specific game then post under that game's thread, not here.
There was a couple dozen questions and comments that I meant to move here, but I accidentally deleted them instead of moving.

Re: Feedback, Questions and Answers for Game Club Challenges
I may have been away and I hate asking this but what is this all about? Is this a new contest or just additional points or what?

Re: Feedback, Questions and Answers for Game Club Challenges
I guess this would be the best place to post this.
There is a Game Club game that I have already beaten. Since this game has save RAM of the last place I saved, I have it saved right before the final battle. If I beat the game again using the save RAM, would I get credit for the monthly point total?

Sabb, this is a game that is in this month's list? I ask because if it was a prior one it would be no problem at all since the points automatically add to your total when you beat a game.

That is correct. The game saves and I still have the save. If I beat the last level again, do I get the credit for February?

That's kind of a gray one Sabby. I know the rules state that the game would have to be beaten again in a given month to receive mastery for that month. If the game didn't have saves it would have to be played from the beginning to get the credit. I think that is the case here too.
You did receive points for beating it already, though.

OK, another question then. If I had not submitted the mastery screen, it would be alright (see Pokemon last month). I'm just trying to clarify the difference. Who is to say that someone else does the same thing I am proposing without informing us? I am fine with whatever decision is made, I just think clarification is needed.

That doesn't help me for the month.

I said it was gray because it comes down to the honor system somewhat. Based on my interpretation of the rules, the game would have to be played from the start in a given month to get credit for it.
If someone has a way to get away with not doing this it's a risk they would have to take on themselves. Based on how I understand it, every game has to be beaten that month to get credit for that month's round. Does that make more sense?

Totally agree, but we know not everyone has the same honor/moral code as we do.

If that is true, then the Pokemon save (I believe that StarFoxFan had) should not be valid since it was done in the prior month.

That is how I understand it also, I'm just moving the starting point.

I understood you from the beginning, I just think clarification is needed for this type of situation. I'm not looking for a short cut or extra leg up for February. I was just thinking about this when the game came up in the game club.

I wasn't aware of that one, but if it wasn't completed in the month it started it should not count towards that month.

Okay. I got you. That's how I understand it. The game (saves or not) must be played from start to finish to receive the credit in the month the game is launched.

Re: Feedback, Questions and Answers for Game Club Challenges
Game must be completed within that month to get credit for that month.
You can not use a previous master submission to get credit for a future game club challenge.
You can use a previously made SRAM for a game club challenge since there is no way to police it.

Everyone is welcome on RU. We don't allow illegal aliens though, if you're from Mars you're out of luck.

No it's not ok. Jupiter is a gas giant. We don't need any members who are full of air or so light that they'll float away if we don't constantly support them.

Actually i'm from Pluto, with no eyes, i use my fingers, and i'm having trouble with touchscreen...
I came here to see how advanced your technolgy is compared to ours, and then i found this site. I found out that most of the new games suck, the old ones were better.
Good ol' times!

Pluto is cool, it's just Mars and Jupiter we have to be wary of.

Re: Feedback, Questions and Answers for Game Club Challenges
How many months does this go for and even if this contest ended could you still accumulate game club points despite not winning any other awards?

Re: Feedback, Questions and Answers for Game Club Challenges
@GamingWolf: This is a twleve month contest. Each month's winner gets a traveling badge. The player with the most points total for all 12 months gets a permanent badge as the grand champion for the contest. I think it's going pretty good, so there may be a new contest for this once this one ends. But then again, maybe not.
