Error: Game did not load
Several people have reported this problem this week.
When they play any or most games they receive "ERROR: GAME DID NOT LOAD" message instead of the game.
I have not had time to look into it yet but seeing how there are so many people all of a sudden with this problem I should probably mark it a priority and figure out what's going on.
I will try to be in Chat - Retro Uprising often today. If you are having this problem please log into chat.
To start with I will help the first person that finds me in chat and has this problem and wants to connect with Team Viewer. Hopefully after that I will figure out the cause and just be able to post a solution for everyone else here.
For info on Team Viewer see this thread http://retrouprising.com/support/ret...support/t2678/

Re: Error: Game did not load
I've been meaning to ask Kong, but could this be something with FF4?

Re: Error: Game did not load
I was getting this then I updated my video card and everything started working again. Was as simple as finding it and clicking "update driver".

Re: Error: Game did not load
If you are having this problem then please answer the following questions.
- Who is your ISP? (Internet Service Provider - example: Comcast, AT&T, AOL, Charter)
- What Antivirus program are you using? (Example: Norton, Avast, G-Data, AVG)
- Do you use a firewall? (Example: ZoneAlarm or you are at school or work or library - if you don't know then the answer is probably no.)
- What state do you live in?
- Can you test this on another computer in your house? Does that work? I want to know if two computers in one house have the same problem or not so I can tell if it is the computer or the Internet connection.
- Can you test your computer on a different Internet connection? (Example: take your laptop to a friends house, cyber cafe or work)
It will be a big help if you are having this problem and can answer as many of these questions as possible. Thanks.
FYI. This problem is not related to the OS or Web Browser, it is happening to all of them. Right now I'm trying to figure out why it is happening to some people but not everyone. That is what the questions are for.

Both of those are different issues. This is something new.

Bad idea. Unrelated but install this to keep yourself safe. It is one of the better free Antiviruses

Re: Error: Game did not load
I've used Team Viewer to test on three computers so far. simgeezy33, StarfoxFan2009 and tanc24. All three are having the exact same problem. The game files are being corrupted while being downloaded.
This is a new problem.
It is only happening on some computers.
So far it looks like if it happens on your computer then it will be all computers in your house - so related to Internet connection.
The problem is not related to ArcadeOX because when bypassing ArcadeOX the problem is still there.
It is happening just to zip files.
I have multiple domain names and accounts on one server. The problem is on all of those domain names.
If the files are put on a site on a different server then they work so it is related to my hosting account.
So something with a combination of specific ISPs, my webhost, and zip files started going wrong this week.
Hopefully there will be more info soon. Right now I am most interested in answers to questions 5 and 6 above. Please answer them if you can.

Re: Error: Game did not load
To answer question 5. for me, I tried Street Fighter Alpha: Warrior's Dreams on one of my other laptops at home. It also runs FF 3.5.13 just like the laptop I'd reported earlier. I had to download ArcadeOX onto it to try things out.
Sadly, the result was the same: Error: Game did not load.

That could very well be. The same game that I just referenced didn't work from work, either.

Re: Error: Game did not load
Update.
I have not found the cause or solution to this problem yet.
However I did find a work around.
It should work for everyone now, hopefully. Let me know if you are still having this same problem or if it is fixed now.

Is there anything special we need to do (uninstall ArcadeOX, clear cache, etc.) before we "officially" give it a go?

Hopefully no. Should just work. If it doesn't work let me know and I will give additional instructions.

Weird...I tried it at home and it works! It didn't while I was at work, but I did start FF again when I got home (I'd turned the computer off before I packed up).

Re: Error: Game did not load
I'm having a similar problem too with a few SNES games. Not sure how helpful, but here are my answers to the questins above:
1. Who is your ISP? BT
2. What Antivirus program are you using? AVG
3. Do you use a firewall? Zone Alarm
4. What state do you live in? United Kingdom
5. Can you test this on another computer in your house? Does that work? Sorry, no.
6. Can you test your computer on a different Internet connection? Sorry, again I can't. It's a desktop.
I noticed it a few days ago and thought it was just me. On the off chance I just cleared my cache but that didn't help.
Thanks to everyone looking into this, sure we all appreciate it.

Re: Error: Game did not load
Don't know if this helps Kong, but last week when I was at my parents house for Thanksgiving I tried to set RU up on their computer to take another run at Speed Coin and they are using IE7 and were getting that error.
I installed the latest Firefox on my parents PC and configured it, and that worked fine. I don't know if anyone is having this problem with Firefox, but it resolved the problem in that case. Thank God I don't have this problem at home.
