Same thing happened with me. I don't remember how big the file was, but it took at least a couple hours to upload (I had to let it run overnight )

Re: Adding AOX recorded game movies to Youtube

I can't really leave my computer idle just to upload a 55 second video so I'm experimenting with compression and changing the file type.Last night I did something in Windows Movie Maker and I think the file is really small now.Wish me luck!....

Re: Adding AOX recorded game movies to Youtube

Actually, I suggest trying to upload to one of these three hosting sites instead:

megavideo.com
veoh.com
imeem.com

Better quality, faster uploading, and no length restrictions.

Re: Adding AOX recorded game movies to Youtube

Also I think megavideo supports the most file formats out of all of them.

Ok thanks I'm trying veoh and If that fails, megavideo should be 3rd time lucky. But I basicly wanted the video on youtube, but I don't mind that much, as long as I don't have to use megavideo.. or will I O_o

Moments later: It's working! 4 mins left!WooHoo!

Uggh.. : It finished uploading, I clikced on the finish button and then went to my profile. The video icon says "Processing" and when I clik on it it goes to a page and saus "The content for this video is no longer avalible".

2nd-Uggh.. :Now it doesnt say processing but has an image from the video, but It says the same thing when I click on it.Any help?

And when I copy and paste the link, click on the link, It works!(although the actual video hasn't yet loaded.):
http://www.veoh.com/browse/videos/ca...2177838XgS6Cds

Oh my.. Now the video doesn't ever load.Is there no solution?

I'm making a new post as I can no longer edit the last one:
The video finally works! It can be found here:

Starfox 2 Intro | Free Tech & Gaming Videos - Watch Tech & Gaming Videos Online | Veoh

Re: Adding AOX recorded game movies to Youtube

Well this is what I recommend that you do.Other that Kongs advice on compressing a video here is what I did:
Although my clip was only 55 seconds long, it was 500 MB.This solution helps weather your video is 8 seconds long or 8 miniutes long.First, play a gme using ArcadeOX full mode, such as a snes game.Go on the File menu and click on record .avi and whn the window for compression come up for this method you don't have to compress the file, althouhg you may, but that's for your experimenting.Do your recording, stop the recording and then open up windows movie maker.Once on winows movie maker open up the .avi file and drag it into the first storyboard slot.Don't save it and delete the video just yet, or the clip will be lost. Then click on "Publish Movie".Whne a box saying "Where do you want to publish your movie" comes up, click on This computer>Then change the file name and folder where you want it to be saved>Next>More settings>Windows Media HD 720p>publish.The file size should now be Alot smaller (Mine changed form 500MB to 17MB).Open it up in a media player and if it works, you can either Upload it to youtube although I can't say exactly how long it will take or another website.I recomend veoh.com as it has quick uploading, good quality, unlimited file size and it tells you how long you have left.

I know that was really boring but please read it properly and your problem should be solved! Here is my example of what I uploaded using that method:
Starfox 2 Intro | Free Tech & Gaming Videos - Watch Tech & Gaming Videos Online | Veoh

P.s. If there are any typos in there, just ignore them.I was typing fast.Too fast.

Re: Adding AOX recorded game movies to Youtube

Also I think uploading to video.google.com is supposed to be good. They have few restrictions I think.

When I said use compression I meant the compression built into the emulators. SNES and Game Boy both will compress while recording.

It would be cool if you put a little advertising in the intro like "Recorded while playing online at RetroUprising.com"

Re: Adding AOX recorded game movies to Youtube

I already knew you meant compressing the file in the emulator. But I decided to do it a different way. That's why I said you don't have to compress the file (referring to what Kong previously said) but stated that you could see and experiment for yourself. It was not needed as there would be a different stage of compression in windows movie maker.
And yeah I'm up for putting up RU as part of the credits.Shall I do it in the description?Oh and Kong did you think the video quality in mine was good?

Re: Adding AOX recorded game movies to Youtube

okay, this works:

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qBexzgxyumU"]YouTube - Top Gear 3000 LP level 1[/ame]

I used the top option at compression of 48 % but it was only traveling at like a third of the speed it should be...

Re: Adding AOX recorded game movies to Youtube

I still think camstudio is the best way to go. Unless you want the forced lag which if you are making a demo video for something, you may want to.

Cam you sent me a message asking if you could mention RU in the video, Yes.

Re: Adding AOX recorded game movies to Youtube

ok, done, the lag actually isn't too bad to work with, I've tampered around and got it to two thirds the actual speed. Now I can cut down on save states and screw ups
