Re: gameplay videos, youtube
If you want to upload a video to youtube, first sighn up for an account to youtube, then go upload the file and edit the options (e.g. Name, Description, Tags etc.).Selcet the correct video file and clik upload. Most uploads take about 5-10 miniutes.

Re: gameplay videos, youtube
easiest way I know how to get you playing a game here on RU to youtube is
1. Download a free program called camstudio ( www.camstudio.com)
2. play the game and record with camstudio it will make an .avi movie file which can be uploaded to youtube.
3. you may have to use a movie editor software (google search for a free one) to chop the movie to under 9:59 second bits
4. upload the parts to youtube.

Re: gameplay videos, youtube
You can not put jmvfiles on youtube.
When you record a movie directly from within aOX you are actually doing keystroke recordings that can only be played back from within the emulator.

Re: Adding AOX recorded game movies to Youtube
If you choose the "Record AVI" option under File in aOX full mode you can upload it to youtube. Just make sure you save it to a file where you can find it. I just tried it out last night. It worked fine, except for a little bit of lag and it took forever to upload to Youtube (not sure if thats normal or not though).

Yes, taking ages to upload to youtube is normal. It shoud take about 10 minutes usually, depending on the size of the file.

Re: Adding AOX recorded game movies to Youtube
Wait, why did you compress the file?Just try it again but this time don't compress it just record and save as the right format and upload straight to youtube. If the upload works, then you know you can do it correctly.
Note: Youtube videos may take a while to upload depending on the size of the file.

Re: Adding AOX recorded game movies to Youtube
When I did it I didn't compress it or anything. The sound did turn off, and it lagged while I was recording, but the video turned out okay.

well, you know when it asks you to name and save the file just before you start recording, i created a folder so i know where to find the video to upload, i save, well a smaller window comes up after that asking me to compress, its already on the "full frames (uncompressed)" option so i click ok, then the problem starts there...

Re: Adding AOX recorded game movies to Youtube
So you can't do it without compression?Apart from the lack of sound and choppyness, can you still play and aupload the video?

Re: Adding AOX recorded game movies to Youtube
You mean that it split into 3 parts at youtube?
P.s. How much recording of snes can you upload to youtube.I mean, I was going to upload 5-8 miniute video of me playing Starfox 2, and even though the usual limit for good quality videos on youtube is 10 minutes, uploading footage of you playing snes from RU the file would become the maximum size withinn 2-3 mins or what?

Re: Adding AOX recorded game movies to Youtube
.... About 5 hours later:
I have just recorded an uncompressed .avi file of the intro of StarFox 2.The file is about 500MB in size and it's been 15 mins and the upload bar has barely moved.
Edit: I cancelled the upload.I'm gonna' try converting it into a different file format.

Re: Adding AOX recorded game movies to Youtube
Super Nintendo and Game Boy in aOX Full Mode both offer AVI recording that you can upload to YouTube but you will have to use compression to make the file small enough to upload.
You will need to do some experimentation to find out what compression method works best on your computer. Compressing might cause some lag while playing but the lag will not be in the video. There probably will not be sound while you are playing but it will be in the video. Not all compression methods will work on your computer. You want to compress as little as possible to get it just under the YouTube maximum file size for best quality. If you are making a 10 minute video then you will need to compress more than you would in a 1 minute video.
