Granted, you can now control gravity, but the usage of this power would cause a change in distance between atoms and cause you to either compress into a being with no openings and no way to circulate fluids, or unravel all together. In trying to test your useless power, you focus on altering the gravity of specific items. Behold! You soon find that you must use absolute care, for even the slightest change to an objects gravity can cause it to either compress or unravel, meaning that your power is too dangerous to use on humans. You later find a nice job in eliminating useless batteries by scrambling their atoms. The pay is awful, and life is boring, but at least you can choose to destroy the world at any time you want.

I wish for some bombs, rope, and lamp oil.

Wish granted, but the bombs are duds, the rope is of horrible quality and the lamp oil turns into a lamp oil elemental and absorbs you into itself.

I wish I had the ability to selectively invoke death in whomever or whatever I choose.

Granted, you get Skyrim and soon realize that you lack the proper console for it. In your woe, you decide to go on a quest to purchase the gaming system; the quest for more money. Your adventure takes you to a strange land, one where people seem to live in the lands of olde. Indeed, you stumble upon a Renaissance fair and soon get a job as a professional jouster. After slaying your first couple opponents (this is a hard core fair we're talking about here) you begin to realize that you've been screwed over and set up by a dirty gambling committee that works for the Australian mafia. In your attempt to restore honor, you hunt down and challenge the leader of this syndicate to a duel.
He promptly shoots you.

Wish granted, but it just so happens that after you slowed down time, you cannot speed up time to normal. Good luck having to wait (figuratively) forever for people to stop talking to you, or get out of the way, or whatever else it is they need to do.

Granted, however, your dreams are still lined with disturbing memories. I've no idea what "cupcakes" is, but in your dreams, cupcakes slowly float toward you as you sit in a vast plateau. It's the same thing every time; you attempt to run, but cannot descend the landmass without a nasty fall to certain dreamy-death. However, you cannot sit, as more and more cupcakes slowly float down to you gently, surrounding and approaching you. It is when the cupcakes begin to pierce your body that you suddenly wake up to a startled house hold. You decide to investigate the idea of "lucid dreaming", in which you will be able to control the contents of your dreams. Eventually you master it, and you disperse the cloud cupcakes with your mind. The plateau suddenly sinks and joins with the plains below as you walk into a blurring mass of proud light.

Victorious, you awake with a smile; yet to an empty house. You voyage outside to find no signs of life. It is as if all local residents have vanished. You continue downtown only to hear the silence of motionless vehicles and a sidewalk unmanned. You walk, unstopped, to the top of the tallest building in sight and gaze at what might as well be a toy city. You look down upon the grey of unease. You look up upon the rainbow of perplexity. A colorful sky winds above your head: the clouds now made of cupcakes. They do not advance, yet they hang there, as if they bobbed atop a drifting sea. You realize now that you have never left the dream at all, that you merely cast the cupcakes away in your desire to return home, and that your mental manifestation has perversified your desire. In desperation, you toss yourself from the building, only to find that no death awaits you on the ground. For what will, literally, feel like an eternity, you will be trapped within your dream, only to look up at a sky full of cupcakes and wonder if there is a freedom to be had.

I wish I had some money.
