17 sounds about right.

The lowest score would be:

Corneria - 1 point (the boss after waiting a lot)
Meteo - 0 points (use the warp zone to skip the boss)
Katina - 0 points (do nothing and let the boss destroy the base)
Sector X - 0 points (use the warp to skip the boss)

1 point so far

Now you have a choice, decide the Area 6 route or Boise:

Area 6 Route:
(Choose Sector Z after the warp)
Sector Z - 6 points (destroy the missiles at the LAST second so you don't get the +bonus)
Area 6 - 1 point (boss after a lot of waiting)
Venom - 7 points (4 for Star Wolf Team, 2 for Andross hands, 1 for final brain, after lots of waiting during each phase of course)

Total: 15 points

Boise Route:
(Choose Titania after the warp)
Titania - 1 point (boss after waiting)
Boise - Not sure, I don't know if the +3 bonus on the force field towers will fade after waiting. If so then 6 + the number of targets on the core. Otherwise 24 (+3 bonus x 6 + 6) + the number of targets on the core. Ignore Star Wolf team.
Venom - 4 points(1 for Golem boss, 2 for Andross hands, 1 for robot Andross)

Total: 40~50 points

I could be wrong since I've never tried a low score run but those numbers sound right in my head.

Yep. I've played StarFox 64 a lot

. It's still the best one despite all of the bells and whistles added to the newer games.

It is pretty good. I just wish it had some of the bizzare and cult feeling of the original. But maybe Out of This Dimension is a one time thing, and would make the game feel too awkward.

I think it would feel out of place, the second one sets a much more serious tone than the first. It might have been strange to hear Fox and co going "WTF is going on?!?" when paper planes started attacking =D.

The paper planes could be done in a cool way, but I was thinking more about weird stuff like those huge smiling moons in the background. Those always creep the Hell out of me.

Something that really frightened me as a small thing was the game over screen for Star Fox. Seriously, how menacing does he need to look?

Awesome news. I can't remember if I told you guys or not, but I tried to pre-order at Gamestop last week, and the employee had never heard of the system at all. He kept trying to convince me to put a DS Lite on layaway instead.

Man, the 3DS still has yet to really get me excited. Oh wow, it's in 3D which is going to amount to a stupid little gimmick, that will be over utilized and poorly utilized in the earliest games, much like the DS and its first games poor implementation of touch controls, every game had touch controls just for the sake of touch controls, no matter how bad they were, and how out of place they were.

Not even Metal Gear Solid is exciting me, which is downright sad.

Combine that with an estimated price of $300, and you have something that I likely won't even buy used five years from now.

I tried pre-ordering it Friday and the Gamestop employee said they weren't accepting pre-orders yet but to try back in about two weeks.

@DM: It's cool. Different strokes for different folks. I wouldn't pay $5 for a new PSP or 360 but if other people enjoy them, no problem.

@DM: The Third Party support is massive and is still growing, I mean Metal Gear Solid,
Resident Evil, and Megaman Legends 3 are all coming to the 3DS.

When you'll go as far as turning your back on one of favorite series of games simply because of the system it's being released on, then your fanboyism has dropped to some pretty low levels.

They are overhyped, but that doesn't make them bad games, Metal Gear Solid 4 may have
been an aweful stealth game, but it still had an outstanding story with great gameplay.

The story is the reason MGS4 sucks, there is more watching cutscenes (sometimes an hour long) than gameplay. The first 2 chapters are the only ones worth playing IMO. I couldn't wait for the rest to be over. Starts with a bang, ends with a thud.
