Re: Team Contest IV - Tournament I
Waiting for the dice business. The next tournament will start Saturday.
You can submit as many Dice scores as you want in any mode. The single highest score between the two teams in June will count.

Don't worry, I have plenty of images to break up the monatony of it. Seeing as how I've got until July 4th to enjoy this. Maybe a new one every 2 - 4 days or so.
What do you think, princess?

Thanks Cam3ron36, same to you. You always score very high in EDF, so I knew that I would really have to work hard if I was going to win. We'll definitely have to try for that rematch.
By the way, stevencassidy13... ...Love the new hat.

Re: Team Contest IV - Tournament I
@ Kong, so it looks like GOM and EC tied in the Dice game. We have passed the NOON cut-off point and we remain tied. I find this pretty amazing since it appears this is the first time this has ever happened in Dice. First of all, hats off to GOM (especially Tanc & Tenser) for a great showing in Dice and for helping to make this team contest even more dramatic. Secondly, Kong how do you think we should proceed since we are still in a tie situation?
I was thinking about options that we might have to break the stalemate, and allow everyone to get on with the tournament final.
@ Tenser, it seems to me that since Tanc and Gameguru have already secured a place in the final, it is really between you and me (since I assume we are potentially vying for a spot after putting in the effort in the bonus games and Dice). My question to you is, if Kong is cool with it, would you like to have a contest of some kind to settle this? For example, would you be up for say a one day/one round/two person tournament just between us on an agreed upon game? We could do 5 tries, but say have to submit all the scores within 24 hours? We could even do this in a game that was played in the tournament if you like (i.e. Super E.D.F./Donkey Kong, or other) or something completely different. I know you are honorable Tenser, and probably want to resolve this as much as I do, so I would like to get your thoughts on this.
@ Kong, I'm not trying to overstep any grounds here, or bypass what you want to do, but I can't personally think of a better way to resolve this. Dice is supposed to exist to break ties. Who would have thought that we would both score exactly the same very high score? I don't know the statistical probability of this but it must be pretty unlikely. Whatever happens ultimately, I have to give GOM props. You have helped make things in this contest very dramatic and exciting. Kong, if you have another way you would like to proceed, that's cool, but I thought that since it is essentially between me and the T man at this point, it might be a cool way to finalize this and end with a bang. I know you want to launch the final tourney, but I can't think of anything better off hand.

Re: Team Contest IV - Tournament I
This is all speaking as a member of GOM and not as a mod. I'm a bit too biased at the moment to make an objective stance myself.
First off, I was playing to put another member of GOM in, not myself. I know well enough that I suck at games like Balloon Fight and Joust.
Secondly, Grumpy Old Men firmly believe that the winner of the dice game tie should be decided by who achieved that score first. This is how the dice game itself ranks the placings and we believe we should follow that guideline.

Re: Team Contest IV - Tournament I
Tanc and Winnebagel one of you start a dice challenge.
Go to http://retrouprising.com/dices.php and click Challenge and enter the other's name.
You will each play a single game of dice. High score of that single game will win.

Okay. I meant especially that we were both playing for our teams, but nevertheless, I meant that Tanc and you had been putting in most of the time into Dice, so that is what I was trying to say.
I couldn't disagree more on when the high score was set. People on R.U. are all in different time zones and have different work schedules, etc., so saying that because someone had the opportunity to get online and set a score first should win is not only unfair, but it should be considered irrelevant in my book (I don't mean that personally towards you Tenser). Per Kong, the winner was to be the person with the highest score value by Noon today. Kong could have cut if off by midnight last night, so whoever got on first could have the advantage, but he gave a window in which to complete this. By Noon today both of our teams had a score of 700. As per Kong's instructions nothing was said about who scored that score first, so I take the stance that if the scores are even there is a tie still in place.

Kong, will this be Xtreme or regular Dice?

@ Kong, nevermind. I just saw where you said that we need to create the challenge ourselves. Like I said before, I respect the efforts of both Tanc and Tenser, but I just want things to be fair for everyone. I am fine with the Challenge method. If GOM winds up winning it it they will deserve it my book and have my congratulations. Same with EC.

Of course, the fact that you were playing Dice along with me three to four hours earlier than Tanc even logged on would make your arguement mute.
Not that it matters now. Good luck to both of you.

Ahh, yes, but I had to leave for a long while and couldn't keep playing it. I also meant what I said as a general rule because I feel that in cases where there is a time window, the who scored first rule shouldn't apply.
I concur. Best of luck to Tanc. It shouldn't take much to beat my score I think. I just rolled what is probably the worst score I ever have in Dice, but we'll see. I wish nothing but the best for GOM (well nothing but the second best after EC of course). May the best luck of the roll win! ;D

For the record, I set that score of 700 around 11pm pacific time last night. That was about my 4th attempt.
Good luck, Winnebagel! I don't know what your score is, but I bet it's pretty good. I'll do my best.

Good Luck to you Tanc. I have a feeling that this day will be yours, but it's all good. It has been fun competing against you guys. Until next time.

I'm glad the two new teams showed up for this contest as it seems our old rival, Mega Men turned into complete suck.

It has been a nice competition so far. I'm glad the Tournament type was chosen first so that everyone could play. I am continually pleased at the level of competition on R.U. too. It really brings a "tare o' joy" to this old Retro gamer's heart.

Re: Team Contest IV - Tournament I
Yikes, that was close.
Sorry Winnebagel, but I got you in dice. BARELY.
465 to 456.
Are we like cosmic brothers or something?
First a tie, then this. Too weird.
Anyway, congratulations to everyone. This has been a fun tournament so far. I can't wait to see how it shakes out.

Wow! That was closer than I thought it would be. Nice roll.
Truly bizarre, though. Cosmic brothers? Well I know I have one out there somewhere. We were separated at birth, but I have his picture. I thought for awhile that Dudebro was my cosmic brother, but then I found out he is in fact a squirrel with over developed muscles. Here is the only picture I have of my brother. Is this you?
I agree. It has been a fun journey in this tournament. Congrats to you and all the teams as they begin the final leg. R.U. Rocks!

Re: Team Contest IV - Tournament I
Sorry for the delay. I don't have good Internet access right now.
Retro Uprising - Arcade - Tournament - Balloon Fight
Each round will close after a week.
The brackets were randomly assigned. They look like they didn't work out very good for GOM.
