Re: Osama Bin Laden
No I won't change my opinion. Besides CNN being one of the lamer news sites I'd have to see the poll info for it to matter. It's easy to take a bias sample and release a garbage poll, politicians do it all the time.
But if that number is accurate then I feel bad for the world, we're mostly stupid.

From CNN:
"Yesterday we reported that 89% of people responded that they believed there was a US government cover-up surrounding 9/11. Later that same day the poll now indicated that 90 percent believe there was a cover-up."
Perhaps now that you realise your the one in the minority, you will change your opinion, since that type of thing holds so much weight with you.
|
I don't think there was some full-scale cover up, and I don't believe it was some sort of inside job. I do believe that there is information kept from the public, but regardless of who did it and why, one fact remains: It was a terrible tragedy, one of the worst in recent memory, barring natural disasters, that is.

And that's why there are alot of people who so readily believe the official story, the thought of a country's own government doing that to them is a scary one.

Re: Osama Bin Laden
If you guys wanna believe a conspiracy theory based on zero factual evidence then so be it. Until proven otherwise I'll stick to the most realistic version of events. I don't care if no one takes me seriously. Like I said before if the majority of people believe in stories then that's their problem. I guess it's like religion, people believe what they wanna believe even if it runs counter to facts and reality.

Re: Osama Bin Laden
I mostly believe the official story, I just feel we haven't been given quite everything.
To be honest, who did it is irrelevant and why they did it was irrelevant. All that is relevant is what they did, when they did it, and to whom they did it.
The facts are this: Someone hijacked passenger jets and crashed them into several buildings, and were going for at least one more than they hit. They did it on the morning of September eleventh, 2001. They did it to innocent American citizens.
I don't care who they were, or why they did it. They committed a terrible ill against mankind, and they were wrong in doing so.

I don't believe either side of the story. Just like Bin Laden, I don't find there is enough evidence to justify believing anything.

I don't want to open a can of worms, but do you realize how many innocent civilians your country has dropped bombs on regularly for lord knows how long now?

Re: Osama Bin Laden
I know my country has done some terrible things to civilians, and has for the entirety of its pitiful existence as a nation, but that doesn't make the whole 9-11 thing any less of a tragedy. The murder of innocent civilians is always a tragedy, no matter who the perpetrator is, and no matter what nation the civilians belong to. Our civilians should not be punished for the sins of our military and politicians, each civilian is a unique entity, regardless of what nation they are allied with.

You're the one making a broad generalization without including the other major players. You can't talk about the bad the US has done without including it's willing allies.

You can say what you want about Canada, I think that it's practically a mirror to America, just with out the friggin' elephants. (joke, but I don't make political insults too often)

Re: Osama Bin Laden
Of course there aren't elephants in Canada, just geese and probably penguins because of all that snow. Oh, and in school they don't learn "duck and cover", they keep some of the French traditions and learn "run and hide behind the United States at the first sign of trouble".
Now then, I must apologize for that, I have nothing against France or Canada, I just sometimes feel the need to joke.

I want to start by apologizing to DB for this, it was said in a heated moment and it's inaccurate and insulting.
Moreover, DB could have said the same thing to me since from his point of view it may seem that I am the one with my head in the sand.
DB your head is not in the sand.
You have been tricked, my friend, by some of the slickest confidence men/women there ever have been: professional liars whose job it is to shape our reality though manipulation of our emotions.
My outburst only proves their job has worked - I don't even listen to their lies and it got me riled up!
So far as this being relevant to the topic, it is absolutely instrumental to it since according to the official story, Osama was responsible for the 9/11 event {even though his 'Wanted' poster didn't mention it at all}.
Someone besides Osama was responsible for physically entering the twin towers and placing the charges necessary for controlled demolition; as I have said {and please check it out yourselves} those towers had massive inner steel cores that would have had to been cut to allow them to fall at nearly freefall speed, as we have all witnessed them do on video.
In some videos you can see the {thermate} signature stream of molten metal with a plume of grey smoke pouring out of one of the towers just prior to its demolition.
Scientific analysis of the dust has proven that thermate was present, and it isn't something one would normally keep in an office tower, not to mention the fact that it's a special Military grade of the substance designed to cut metal faster than the commercial therm ite.
Then there's the initial hole in the side of the Pentagon that was far too small to allow the Boeing airliner the official story claims crashed directly into it, and the first videos of the event show the roof hadn't even collapsed yet.
These are only a couple more of a far larger number of issues not addressed or simply ignored by the 9/11 Commission Report {co - authored by Phillip Zelikow and Condoleeza Rice - two people who stood to profit greatly from the telling of the official lies} and if it wasn't that then it was flat out fabrication, such as the alleged 'cell phone calls' made from the planes - which wasn't possible in 2001.
This isn't about who's right or who's wrong, nor whether I know more than you.
It's about truth which must dispel these lies told by the Government and its Corporate partners before they lead us all into WW3.

Re: Osama Bin Laden
Still trying to milk the story. Media today, 50 years ago, they could have strung that story out for weeks, maybe months. Now, everything that needs to be reported is done within 4 or 5 days and everyone has moved on.
Almost a month since Bin Laden was taken out, here is the state of things in that time.
The Dow Jones has dropped 400 points, likely due to poor consumer spending in April and by the drop in oil prices.
Oil prices had an immediate drop, dropping 17 dollars in the week after the assassination. In the past week, they have since risen again over the 100 dollar mark.
The dollar has risen, while precious metal has dropped. This is not expected to last.
Obama's approval rating has risen to 60%. He had a good month, combine Bin Laden, the birther thing, and the correnspondance dinner.
As of 5/22, 10 soliders were killed and 97 were wounded in May in Afghanstan. In Iraq, 15 were killed, while 19 others died from non-combat related incidents.
There have been 5 separate major terror and miliant attacks in Pakistan since the assassination, including an attempt on US consulate employees, two were wounded in the attack.

I'm still waiting to see how they'll use the 'laptop' they found containing 'Osama's plans' to rewrite history and provide 'conclusive proof' that he was the one behind 9/11.

Yeah, I know. I'd love to see it, but I'm on the mainland. That still won't erase 9/11 from people's memories, but at least Bin Laden's out of our hair on a permanent basis.
