im assuming it really does not have to be area 1 that you get the 15 lives picture on? you just have to have 15 lives right so if i completed the game with 14 lives i could keep playing till i got the 15 on area 2 right... you would still be able to see i completed the game because of the score and also the 15 lives

I didn't say, but I was thinking that you beat the game with at least 15 guys in reserve.
So the shot should be on Area 1.

The hard part is thinking of a challenge once you get the puck.

It should be hard, but not impossible, some-what fun, original ideas are nice, ie different than beat my score, and then you have to make sure that you can do it...

The one I had before was having people play Mega Man 2 where you have to fight all the bosses again, only using your blaster.
Tenser had us beat the final guy on Dragon Warrior at a really low level, using save stats.
Wanman had us beat his Bayou Billy score.
Sabby had us do some odd sports things.

That was never completed I might add, so if this one gets beaten I will still have the only uncompleted puck challenge. ;D

My sports challenge was in Double Dribble for NES, you were down by 10 with 2 minutes to play against the level 3 skill team. I may still have the save state.

UPDATE: Nope, it's gone

But I could repeat it if need be

so win from being down by 10? hmm... i would need a save to set that up... could you use saves? probably not just the original starting one...

*edit* i would like it if possible just to try i have not played double dribble and im assuming its going to be like base ball but 10 points... it must be hard if no one could do it...

I'll set one up, it will take a little time, and yes, no save states. When I did it I wanted a movie, but the movie didn't work.

ugh im not going to get much time to play tonight though i did just get to play for 15 mins and hone down the first few levels...

area 1 is a walk in the park now
area 2 sucks and i hate the top down parts i used to have trouble with the 2 gun turrets near the end of the level but i found a way to walk past them so easy peasy now
area 3 is fine i just need to remember to duck ;D and the metal walker is easy with the spread shot
the fortress wall is what gets me every time i lose atleast 2 lives here ... but on my last play through i found where to stand so now i just need to look up shoot and when they orbs move out jump at the right time not to hit the bottom orb but miss the bullets so no more moving...

more to come but now i have masterd area 1-3 with out dieing..area 4 i can get through and area 5 i can do as well as long as i dont rush... so hobbes im comming for your puck... and once i found a few hours your high score as well... that is unless you play yourself and make your highscore insane then i wont even try...

I always seem to lose a life in area 1, I get shot in the back.
Then on the last top down level, where those things come out of the tubes, yeah, hard.

You'd think that betting the game 5 times or so would be enough, *sigh* as if I didn't have enough to do.

the hardest part of area 1 for me is right at the end thier is a red guy in the trench right before the boss and when you walk into the screen he always gets a shot off so i have to duck to avoid it then the guys come down from the door and i have 1 of 2 choices to make 1 stay ducked and let them jump ontop of me or stand up to get hit...[br]Posted on: April 24, 2008, 10:38:52 PM_________________________________________________d ang it i had this... its been a while since i played area 8 so i forgot about the fast shooting cannon guys so i died thier loosing my spread shot... so i had to go throught the level with the fire gun and that sucked so right now with losing that life i had 16 now i have 15... then i get to the boss and i lose 1 life because of the fire gun i suck with it i could not hit the spores... so now im down to 14 so i spent 2 more lives trying to find the best way to kill him ...

and apparently its just run up against his legs holding diagnal up you will kill most of his spores as they shoot out and hit his eye and also his eye beam cant hit you...

sorry guys ill have to have another go at it tomarrow

Mine lasted almost a year, then with the new site it was taken from me. Hobbes has had it almost as long if not longer.

Most contests are designed for the member's enjoyment and not my own. The reason RU hosts contests are to provide you guys with some added entertainment. This challenge isn't that difficult, why should I swoop in and take that from a member like I had to previously. This contest is designed to let members post up there unique ideas for challenges that are difficult but not nearly impossible.

Again, there's no fun in this badge just sitting under Hobbes' avatar for a year, but in my judgement there's no real difficulty in taking this besides a lack of stick-to-it-ness. If I felt I needed to step in, I would have. That being said, I'm very glad to see someone interested in this contest again.

Tenser probably just doesn't want to come up with a challenge. He had it a while back. Hobbes can make it harder so it targets a different audience. To get the puck and use it effectively, you almost need to pick a challenge before you start trying to beat the current one.

EDIT: Tenser beat me to it, but this is what I was posting.

Beat Hobbes challenge, then send your idea to Ten and he will approve it (if it is good). If it sucks, he will tell you and probably give you a suggestion. Good luck.
