Those are BIG firsts.

the first released, not the first developed. They could have been developing them in other games.

And Superman64 could have had better prototypes that weren't released. What's your point? You can't consider games that "could have been" in a list.

Ok, I see your point, now see mine.
In a hall of shame, you look at the balance of the bad and the good of a game. E.T. boasted good graphics for the time, but it was tedious, and boring. And before you get angry and call this opinion, it is widely considered the worst game of all time.

I understand and accept that most people don't like E.T. That doesn't make it correct. To quote Kong, at one time most people believed the world to be flat.
I also firmly believe a lot of people are incapable of placing E.T. in the context of the time it was released. Unless someone personally experiences the game at the timeframe it was released it nearly impossible to fairly judge an older game.
I would even guess that the majority of people who owned E.T. before 1985 liked the game.

pre-1985 games:
Donkey Kong
Space Invaders
Pac-Man
Burger time
Excitebike
Donkey Kong Jr.
Frogger
Q*Bert
The list of goodgames goes on
And that "world was flat" reference really isn't applicable to video games.

Just so we're in the right "mind-set" here. Those are the games you're referring to, correct?

Re: the video-game hall of shame
I have to agree with Tenser from what he just posted. I would actuall rather play E.T. for a day than to have to play pac-man or donkey kong all day.

Re: the video-game hall of shame
E.T. is a boring game, and it is not to my taste. However, there are tons of games worse than E.T. Thus, E.T. should not be on a hall of shame. Those people calling it the worst game of all time have obviously not played Cheetahmen II.
@Tenser: The second spoiler doesn't work.

It's not quite as bad as cheetahmen II, but it comes extremely close.[br] Posted on: November 30, 2008, 10:38:37 AM_________________________________________________H ey You, Pikachu on N64 up for vote
