I didn't rate you down.

My view differs from Steven's. I feel MS isn't the one in the wrong, it's fans are.

MS, along with EA and Activision are just parasitic bottom-feeders equal to shovel ware companies. If gamers didn't buy all of that crap, they'd stop developing it.

For anyone who's actually interested in Kinect I got to try it again and it was still cool. I kept losing but it was a lot of fun. We couldn't figure out the discus event and apparently there's no tutorial, odd right?

Okay, trolling is not what I'm doing, I beleive everthing I'm saying, and I'm not saying it to make anyone mad.

And as far as Kinect goes, I will throw you a bone, I could see it being fun to play with a few friends, and a few beers and maybe the best of the 80's on the radio. Now this is more so fun at the expense of Kinect, acting like a fool and trying to get the macine to co-operate with you could be fun for awhile. Friends and beer make up 95% percent of the enjoyment, but I would put in the same category as a game of Charades or Pictionary. Know what I mean?

@steven- it has plenty of party modes that seem ideal for drinking. One game has two teams of 4 or so I think, it's intentional chaos.

This is a video demonstration of a semester long project for a class using the Kinect. I just got back from the presentation to industry people. The objective was to allow Google Earth to be controlled by a Kinect.

A guy from the Google Earth team was at our presentation, he mentioned that another Google employee had seen something like this, but he didn't say any specifics beyond that except that our project was better.

Wait... are you involved in this somehow SH? I appologize for criticizing it. I didnt realise one of our own was part of it.

I hope you realise that it's in my nature to make fun of the Kinect in all it's capacity, and it wasnt meant as a personal attack on you or your achievment, congrats on finding some alternative uses for it, and again, sorry for the remarks, I do feel like an ass beleive me.

Have you had a chance to use the Kinect yourself Hawk? I have been seriously thinking about getting one to use for additional cardio exercise, but I haven't had a chance to try one. That project sounds cool.

Yeah I'm one of the developers. I made all of the graphics and status bars at the top. As I said it was a semester long class project, and our group had to demo it in front of industry members yesterday.

My mom bought an Xbox360/Kinect bundle for herself for Christmas. I'm never home (in a college dorm most of the year) so I haven't played it much, but I did play multiplayer with her. It's pretty fun. If you want extra excercise then yes it can be a great tool, the games I played all yelled at me whenever I tried sitting down =P. The volleyball game on Kinect Sports is especially demanding because it forces you to jump a lot.
