Re: Internet Gaming Bash of the Year
One more quick question - does the nominating team also specify the game (DIP) settings? I'm guessing that many people will play on the RU site directly and correct me if I'm wrong, RU only gives you the option of playing MAME default in score mode.

Re: Internet Gaming Bash of the Year
Contest revisions:
Due to heavier than anticipated interest and numerous players bringing up many concerns, the following is a list of changes for this contest. While we appreciate that some players may or may not agree to everything here, we think these changes will make for a better overall tournament that the majority of players will enjoy. Due to the date at hand, there will be no further changes to this contest.
1. - Selected games will be played for the entire five week period
2. - Each team will choose four games – send your game selections to Wolf no later than June 30th. Wolf will inform all sites of game selections upon receipt of selections. Should duplicate game selections be received, the team with the highest number of registered players will yield to the team with the smaller number of players. The smaller team will select another game. Wolf will advise of all details once final list of games have been posted. Once games are selected and posted by Wolf, players not already registered on a site are no longer eligible to play. Existing site members may join (eliminates ringers). Games will be played with default dip switches
3. - Auto fire is not allowed
4. - Adjudication – we all know or know of each other generally speaking so there should be no need for this. Players are encouraged to save their INPs for all game play. Disputes (if any) will be handled on a case by case basis and reviewed by all sites.
5. - Submissions: players should submit their scores via this form https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1hSr...aEzaU/viewform – as we want to maintain as live a scoreboard as possible, please submit early and often. Please do not hold on to score submissions.
6. - All games must be completed and submissions received no later than 11:59PM Eastern Standard Time on August 5th. Any scores submitted after this time will not be valid. Again, submit early and often.
Looking forward to an awesome tournament!

I like how all the people who played Speed Coin hardcore back then want nothing more to do with the game, and all the people who didn't are calling for it to return.

I played it a bit back in the day, during that contest, but that was the Marathon contest, no? I think I was more focused with whatever other games we had too. I did alright with it. The twitch reactions are something I can handle, as well as the balance. Though I'd much rather stick to Monkeyball & Marble Madness. Just a bit more polish to those two. xD
Not to mention, we need our annual dose of torturous contest games. I remember winning Home Improvement on the snes... That was miserable to play for hours and hours, but glorious to win.

Re: Internet Gaming Bash of the Year
So what games are RU nominating? Come on, I know at least one of the the 30 odd in your team is itching to let the cat out of the bag.

Re: Internet Gaming Bash of the Year
Thank you gents, as expected you've been of no use whatsoever
I'm guessing Galaga is featuring heavily in your discussion, you're a lay down misere to get 1st on that one.
I've also noticed several players in the last couple of days playing Crush Roller.... oh the horror!!! So let's hope you aren't discussing that one.

Galaga nah silly choice when you think who is on the other teams.
I think the people playing crush roller are just doing so for fun! Odd, I know.

Re: Internet Gaming Bash of the Year
This is cheetah32p! I was wondering if you can add my name down for Retrouprising if its ok. I had my name down for the DKF but I can't log in to their website at the moment to let them know that I can play in the internet gaming bash now. I was wondering if I can play for Retro now. My new stream channel is Twitch if I have to stream games for the tournament. If someone can let me know which games they will be that I have to play. Sorry I'm not that good of a gamer but I can just submit a score to help out. :-). I'm basically just good at DK for the arcade and had a Killscreen but I think Barra and Syscrusher I believe knows about it. :-).
Sincerely,
Jason Brittain

Re: Internet Gaming Bash of the Year
You've already signed up for DKF and it appears that you still really wish to play for DKF but can't, because of some technical DKF site sign in issue?
I don't get over to DKF that often (I probably should more, they are a super awesome group) but just tried logging in and did not have any problems. Maybe it was a short term glitch with the site? That sort of thing occurs all the time with different sites from time to time.
If signing into DKF is still a problem, you could try emailing Jeff to see if he is able to fix whatever the glitch is. You could PM him here too if you don't have his email

Re: Internet Gaming Bash of the Year
looks like Aussie Arcade have chosen bomb jack
a suggestion to Wolfman, make it 5 lives only or on harder DIPS like it is here, otherwise it will be too long and boring for a few people, and leave less time for other games.
you would get more traffic here maybe, if you get us all playing it on here, as many play with TG settings, and most play on easier euro settings.
your game choosing is private?
that's a laugh! the biggest and best team are scared of something?
heh, heh...
