Peaches Honeyblossom Geldof was the daughter of Peace Activist Bob Geldof, who among other things was a member of the band The Boomtown Rats.
Honestly I didn't know much about her until this news but do remember hearing her name once before.
Sad.

On a side note, if you'd ever seen the movie Pink Floyd: The Wall, Bob Geldof was that guy who plays the rock star who shaves his head and goes nuts trashing his room, and I'm pretty sure he's the Neo - Nazi leading the 'Following The Worms / Hammer' campaign in the same film.

He also organized Band Aid in 1984 to record the song "Do They Know It's Christmas" (which he co-wrote) to raise money for famine relief in Ethiopia. That's where I mostly remember hearing his name from

Yeah, when I still "believed" that wrestling was real back in the WWF days Ultimate Warrior and Hulk Hogan were my favourites. I always pick them in WWF in MAME.

Me too Ballas, I have great memories of cheering for Ultimate Warrior.

The guy looked more fit than a lot of his partners on the show, although I have to agree with SC13 when he said UW looked like his head was going to pop off - my guess is high blood pressure.

It's sad to see him go, but considering the health struggles he'd been having (he couldn't even talk, for crying out loud) death will hopefully bring the guy some peace.

RIP Tony Gwynn

One of the best pure hitters in baseball. Was a two sport collegiate athlete (Baseball and basketball) before being drafted by the Padres in 1984. Stayed with the same team his entire 20 year baseball career. Ended his career with over 3,100 hits and a batting average well over .300. He then coached his college alma mater, San Diego St., coaching players such as Stephen Strausberg (which I am sure he didn't limit to any pitch counts). He died at age 54 to his four year battle with throat cancer which Tony believed to be caused by chewing tobacco.

If you watched baseball in the 80's/90's like I did, you watched Tony Gwynn and marveled at his ability to play the game.
