Re: What'cha playing?
I've been playing The Pinball Arcade on my PS3. Highly recommended for those of you that enjoy the silver ball.
Honestly, and maybe I'm just not looking in the right places, I thought there would possibly be a thread on this already on here.

Re: What'cha playing?
I've been playing Wind Waker HD on the WiiU. I don't think I ever actually 100% the game before so I think now would be a good time. Also have to get back to Skyward Sword eventually. Never beat it either!
Still working on Bravely Default and FFX/X-2. They'll take some time

Re: What'cha playing?
I've playing Space Pirates and Zombies or S.P.A.Z. It's surprisingly awesome. I don't know how to describe it and do it justice though. You upgrade your ships, find new ones from enemies you destroy and you do missions across a vast galaxy. It's top down space ship battles in a sci fi setting. The only games I can compare it to are Starflight and Starcontrol but only for the combat, sadly SPAZ has no landing on planets. That can be excused though because it was made by just two dudes and it's very good considering.

I'm gonna try Hearthstone later tonight I think. I was all amped to try it but Blizzard decided I should also download a 10gb update for Starcraft so I'm sitting here losing my motivation.

Re: What'cha playing?
I think you'll like it, DB. The tutorial is really top notch and the card collecting aspect is pretty forgiving while still making it difficult to collect a whole set.
You can buy packs of 5 for 100 gold. Guaranteed at least a rare pull. You can earn gold for doing daily challenges (worth 40-100) and 10 gold for every third win against a human opponent. I usually get a pack every other day.
You can only put two of any one card in a deck and you can use those same two for multiple decks. Meaning if you have two Murlocs in your Priest deck you can still use those two Murloc cards to build a Warlock deck.
Any cards you pull more than two of you can disenchant and use that dust from them to build cards you don't have.
Lots of fun strategy to it and so far you can have up to nine custom decks.

Re: What'cha playing?
I'm liking it so far even though I've lost more than I won(not counting against the stupid AI). I tried a few classes but I seem to do best with Paladin so far so I got that to ten. I got 2 packs already but only got some decent rares. We could try a match but I get the feeling you'd have an advantage over my mostly stock deck. My battlenet name is Dudebro and the number is #1418 what's yours?

My name is Kugyince #1567
I sent you a friend request.
The main deck I use is a Mage deck that focuses on field control.
I'm also building a Warlock deck that uses rush/swarm tactics, a Druid deck that focuses on speeding mana growth and spamming a large minion each turn, and a Warrior deck that deals damage to itself. So I'll probably use one of those three against you so I can work out the kinks in them.

Re: What'cha playing?
I've been playing Shaman and Paladin with field control(that means taunt right?) and priest with lots of minions including more taunts. I made a swarm deck but it didn't go well so I have to get more cards and rethink it.

Field control is about ensuring your opponent's minions don't get past their initial rest phase. I'm on now if you want a go at it.

Oh well I thought that was the goal all the time. I didn't see your invite until I sent you one, we should remember that for whoever else starts playing. I'll be on in an hour or two hopefully.

Re: What'cha playing?
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword.
I played it on release back in 2011 and came away with a negative impression.
I still had my clear file on it, which unlocks Hero Mode (double damage, no spawning hearts).
This time I am enjoying the game MUCH more.
Playing it on the Wii U ups the resolution to 1080p which is creating a much nicer picture than the 480p vanilla Wii.
Hero Mode adds some tension to the adventure since hearts do not spawn anymore. You can only heal by sitting spots (which are very uncommon) or by the limited consumable item stock you bring with you. If you take damage you have to choose between pushing forward, or using your limited healing items. In a way, it feels like Minecraft before they added hunger, heh.
Enemies do extra damage, but it is not excessive like A Link Between Worlds where enemies can one shot you for most of the game. It feels like a great balance to me.
I feel like I'm appreciating the story and characters some more this time around as well. A certain character is a jerk for much of the game, but you can see his character development as the story progresses. Ghirahim is the best Zelda villain yet.
Dungeons are dense...what I mean is that dungeons only have a few rooms (compared to the giant sprawling mazes of A Link to the Past or Ocarina of Time) but the small spaces are used effectively, so you spend less time traversing areas you've already cleared.
I'm having a good time.

Re: What'cha playing?
Still playing Hearthstone. I think I've built a down-right impressive Druid deck. Right now it seems to be eating through ranked play winning 3/4 of the time and I've moved into the 13th bracket.

Once I beat Wind Waker, I'm going back to both Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword. I never beat either of them for reasons. Mostly due to school and then forgetting to go back to it/getting new games to play.
Point is though, I never got too far in either of them so it'll be nice to play through them completely this summer.

Re: What'cha playing?
@Hearthstone - So I finally unpacked a legendary card last night! Today I read it's considered one of the worst, almost useless, because of a recent nerf
I can still find a use for it but I do see why it's not a great card. Figures I'd get it out of all the other options.

Re: What'cha playing?
Congrats DB. The legendary has its uses still.
Example: You're playing a Pally or Shaman and the board is clear. Drop a Token or recruit and then you're Tinkmaster and you have a 50% shot at turning it into a free 5/5. Would even work with a Hunter and a Wild Boar or any class and that 1/1 draw for 2 or the Elven Archer.
You have the shot at getting a 3/3 and 5/5 on board for only 5 mana and maybe even drawing a card or popping their character for 1 as well.
Also I think both the Squirrel and Devilsaur are beasts so it has extra synergy for a Hunter.

Re: What'cha playing?
Yeah I immediately put it into my Hunter beast deck. So far I've been holding onto it until I'm overwhelmed and the other guy plays a card stronger than 5/5 or if I only have a couple weak/injured cards and he has none. Only one time did I get burned and even then I just killed his new 5/5 straight away. I'm not sure what you mean about having a shot at a 3/3. It makes either a 1/1 or a 5/5.
Recently I've really taken a liking to the Rogue. I don't win as much as I'd like of course but I think I'm becoming good at the tricks that class pulls. I got this card early-

and it helps a lot. Combined with the card that returns it to my hand and costs 2 less it's a beast. One game I bounced several enemies and it back and forth until the other guy wasted one of his best removals on it. I felt pretty proud of myself

Re: What'cha playing?
I meant that since the Tinkmaster is 3/3 himself and if you get the 5/5 Devilsaur by spending 2 mana on an expendable then you effectively got a 3/3 and a 5/5 for 5 mana (3 for the Tinkmaster and 2 for the expendable).
Yeah the Rogue (Cleric and Warrior too) relies on a lot of specific combos which makes it powerful on constructed play like Ranked and Casual but hampers it in the Arena where you can't depend on decking specific cards.

Re: What'cha playing?
Oh my bad I forgot about his own presence on the field. Yeah he's not a bad card on his own with that low cost.
I did arena twice and both times I only one once. So at least I got something for my money both times. I gotta say I like it a lot, it makes things much more fair. I wish it was cheaper but I can understand that it needs to be more than a single pack.
