Re: Team Contest VI - Tag Team
Question - if a losing pair tie - as in a team submits two zeros - what should happen? Does the team pick who they bench?

Re: Team Contest VI - Tag Team
the team should pick since there is no player with a greater score

Re: Team Contest VI - Tag Team
I'd say let the team decide who they want to send home, if they are both inactive it shouldn't matter anyway.

If a team submits two zeros it is probably something done on purpose. I could understand one, but two seems a bit excessive. Why should a team that does this kind of thing be rewarded? I would think the other teams should choose who they lose to prevent these types of shenanigans.

Re: Team Contest VI - Tag Team
Copy and pasted from page one:
- If a solo player survives a round or gets first place then they can call in a benched player.
There seems to be a little confusion, wolfman a nd davidman are listed as "eliminated" is this different that "benched"?
Also, does submitting 1 score from a team of 2 count as solo? Like if one of the pair doesn't submit a score?

I wouldnt excatly call it "rewarded", they have two players that are not active, I don't see the harm in letting them selecting what one to bench, and what one stays, based on who they think is more likely to become active before the end of the contest.
Although last night in chat Ten suggested that they might both get benched.

I think I know what you are saying, but it does seem to be a forced loss in a round if there are two zeros. I think this kind of thing should not be encouraged is all I'm saying.
If someone manages to win a round all by them-self that is a big accomplishment and so someone combining with them in that case is a reward.
Losing on purpose is a different case I think. It would just seem to be unfair (to the player being dropped) and not really sportsmanlike in my opinion.
If someone loses a round on purpose just to drop a player and then re align with someone different (which is the only reason I can think of why someone would do this) it would just seem underhanded somehow. I can understand if someone is busy and can't submit a score, but both just seems like it is a tactic.

I just see it as strategy, its not right to do it with 2 active players, but my partner is mia.

Re: Team Contest VI - Tag Team
Benched and Eliminated players are different.
Your benched player can join a solo player team at any time.
An eliminated player requires a solo player to win to be called back.
Example: Davidman was eliminated on team EC leaving TMT a solo team. EC can merge their bench (Oasis) with TMT to create a team if they wish or leave TMT as a solo team.

If I won POW and my partner didnt submit a score, would that count as solo?

No.
Though we could take a team captain vote on it.

Re: Team Contest VI - Tag Team
Jable & Brawl will be playing for MegaMen. I am posting for Joz.
Did we come to an agreement on changing the dice rule? My captain roll idea was vetoed right?
@Double zeros. If your partner is MIA and you submit any score and they submit a zero and you get last place then you are kicked off while your partner gets to stay.
That seems harsh, but that is how I intended the rules to be. The question being asked is if you know that is going to happen then can you submit a zero on purpose to avoid it.
I originally intended to say in case of tie both are benched. I forgot to put that in the rules, so I am asking for everyone opinion since it needs to be covered.
It might be better for the contest if we design it so we kick the dead weight off right away instead of rewarding the no shows. But I don't think that is in line with the original intent of the rules. So I am undecided.
@Eliminated, I had it in mind that players were benched each round and there was no difference in benched and eliminated and that for a benched player to be called in they would have to have a solo player survive a round. Dose everyone prefer what Tenser thought was the rule or what I thought?

I think that members that are eliminated should be able to be brought back.

Re: Team Contest VI - Tag Team
The only difference in what Tenser and I are saying is he thought the first person you benched could be brought in as soon as you had a solo player to match up with him. I thought he would be treated the same as everyone else and could not come in until a solo player survived a round.

Yes Cam, you have to score an obvious first with a major lead to stand a chance.

Re: Team Contest VI - Tag Team
I'm a little confused but I am not in favor of bringing back eliminated players so easily. This already seems like it could be a long contest and allowing the eliminated people to come back seems like it would just compound that to an annoying degree.

I'm in the same boat. If you could do the solo thing and beat everyone else on your own and could then resurrect your team mate that would be cool. It wouldn't be cool to lose on purpose so you could bring in someone else.
