So Tenser, Kong and Squall why do you hate doom? Is it just because you don't like FPS in general or what? It's hard to deny it was groundbreaking and a huge success.

I think FPS are the worst thing to happen to video games. That and 3D in general. But they kind of go hand in hand.

My opinion is biased because they cause me to get motion sick.

Well your opinion isn't very fair then. Many people love FPS myself included. There's nothing wrong with them at all. To each his own right?

Cool, wonder if any other computer games were homebrewed to other systems o.o

Edit:: my problem has always been lack of ammo, or not exploring fully and running into a room of strong monsters with just a pistol... Conduit had easy to find secret rooms, while quake and computer doom had simple infini ammo codes. Plus many of them are M rated so I dont play many thanks to my lil sis lol

the only other problem is that they, like fighting for me, feel the same over and over.. to be utterly honest the main reason I liked MVc2:new age was it had my characters from two games I play on saturn. (no donovan though)

But eh, the same is true for all genre of game, just depends what you like most.

Not many. It is very difficult to do so they are rare.

Adobe recently released a program that makes it much easier so I think you will see many more games like Doom for Flash next year. It also means emulators can now be made in Flash. Similar to our Java ones but in Flash. The quality/speed should be about the same. Just another play mode to choose from.

You know I don't like FPS's. I've played about 10 or 20 of them including Doom and the only one I semi-enjoyed was Turok. I don't mind of other people enjoy them, I just don't.

I do plan on trying out the Metroid Prime FPS series though, being a huge fan of Metroid.

You completely should, imo Metroid Prime 3 was the best game of the Franchise.
And 1 + 2 aren't to far off.

The only Wii games better are Zelda, Mario, and Resident Evil 4.

RE4 is the only Wii game that I regret buying. Its a good game, but not what I was looking for.

FFIV: TAY and Mario Kart are epic. I hear that Punch-Out and Excitebots are too.

I'd also rank games like No More Heroes, MadWorld, and Tales of Symphonia 2 pretty high as well.

Tenser- I don't want to keep this offtopic thing going but I wanna know Turok you're talking about. The older one was awesome but the new one on 360 was pretty meh.

Nah, it was the N64 one. I thought both the first and second one were okay (the second more so) and I own both of them.

The only thing I really didn't enjoy was the whole 4-player split screen head-2-head mini game on Turok 2. That was boring. I guess I'm more of a fan of fighting giant monsters/dinosaurs than other people online or AI humans. That's why I think I might like Metroid Prime.

I can't wait for Monster Hunter 3 to come to the Wii. 4 player online co-op adventure vs. giant monsters seems like win/win to me.

Glad to hear you also liked the N64 one, that was awesome. I've yet to play another good shooter like that where you can actually hit body parts and they react realistically. Also the cerebral bore was cool as hell.

I'm glad you guys mentioned that. I used to have fun playing that at a friend's house. I don't think I have a copy, but I should pick one up. I remember it being great.

Well, I think I've done something never done before- make the world's first Doom 32X texture swap. I'll put up a link, but I have to censor a certain message I put in place of the PAL only message.

Something that no one in the world has ever done. I managed to hack the files of Doom 32X and switch graphics. If anyone else has ever done this, put up a link. It'd be good to be proven wrong for once.

Also, when starting, use this GG code to access the unused Military Base level:
DAHA-AADY

Levels 23 and 24 work with it on, but levels 16-22 are blank. They're the proof of the plan to include the rest of episode 2 and episode 3 until memory constraints got in the way.

Open Source C/C++ games. You can search google for examples.

Adobe made an application that makes it possible to port C programing code to Flash. It is not easy or instant and requires tinkering and will not work with every game. But I predict that there will be several programmers racing to make a name for themselves this year by porting old games to Flash.

Colecovision is already on RU.

As to the others, I believe Intellivision is currently being discussed.

Neo may be added some time in the future, but I think it might be a few years down the line.

I like the idea of Lynx being added too, but I'm not sure what the possibility would be of that.

However, aren't these windows emulators, embedded with a new ArcadeOX engine?
Can't you att any game that has a windows emulator?
As for their size, they are all small, i say they are the best to be palyed online
