I have to give a RIP out to one of my favorite bass players and memeber of one of my favorite bands off all time. Booker T and the MG's helped shape some of my musical tastes lol. Plus he was in Blues Brothers!!

Ray Bradbury died today. I'm sure some of you have no idea who that is but he was an icon. He wrote several novels, his most famous being Fahrenheit 451, and he wrote hundreds of short stories. He's mostly seen as a great sci fi author but he preferred to be called a fantasy writer because his stories weren't based in reality. Either way he inspired many people, like Stephen King and Neil Gaiman, and he changed the face of fantasy forever. He's also credited with predicting stuff like the ATM and televised car chases. Another interesting fact, he never had a drivers license because of a horrific crash he saw at a young age.

As a kid I was into sci fi/fantasy books and even though he wasn't my favorite auther, I did read The Illustrated Man and The Martian Chronicles. I really enjoyed the later. RIP

Not to nitpick but why is it a shame he died? We all die. He was 91 and he said he lived a long happy life.

It's not like his death is tragic. He had a happy life, it just we could
have seen more from him.

I doubt he was doing much of anything anymore. He was sick for a while and he was too tired to attend events. I guess I just think it was better sooner rather than later, lingering on can be pretty tragic.

I know him due to my gf reading a ton of books and she'd always mention Fahrenheit 451 as a favorite of hers. RIP.
