Have you tried searching for other services in your area? Google something like "fax service (your town and state)" and see what comes up. Mine shows multiple locations of UPS stores that offer fax service and even the normal post office, but I've been there and I don't remember that option.

Library, fedex, staples, post office, scanner + windows, copy centers, schools, flower shop, hotel, google. Go to any office and tell them your situation and offer them a couple dollars. They will either let you use theirs or tell you where you can go.

The computer problems continue. My graphics card burned something out today and completely fails now if I try to put any load on it. Driver reinstalls and rollbacks do nothing. Even diagnostic programs break it. This includes RU games too. No more scores until I replace it.

It was a Nvidia 8600GTS, it would have been four years old this summer. Not too bad for a cheap thing from 2007. I'm kinda sad to see it go.

I open up my computer and clear out the dust twice a year, so that's probably not it, but I went ahead and did it again. I also made sure the PCIe connections were secure.

I ran a basic video test on it, with the case open for maximum airflow. It crashed on the first test =P. On the next reboot when I logged into my computer Windows threw up a bluescreen (for the first time on this system!) citing an "unrecoverable hardware error".

Something is up with the cooling. On the video test I heard the fan spin up into overdrive, before my screen dissolves into a mess. This means that the card is overheating. This can't be, because I just cleaned out all the dust, and with the case open I can see the fan going nuts.

I think a power component on it has failed, when it tries to draw power from the extra plug on it, it gets overvolted or something and runs out of spec, overheating immediately. I don't overclock it so it has to be a component failure.

That means it can run fine if I don't put any load on it so it doesn't draw extra power. Unfortunately "load" can be anything above just showing the desktop, Youtube videos can crash it. This is too unstable and rebooting every hour is annoying so I'm just getting a new one.

Got something that's been bothering me mainly recently about computers and who got what.

For several years, all we had for a gaming computer was some windows 98 with no sound (still have it just in case). However, eventually I went to that stupid online school that sucked and they had this system in play to let students buy a computer under 750 dollars or something crazy and they'd reimburse all of it later on. So, because of that we got the computer virtually for free and it's a decent 2008 Vista that was 500 dollars give or take. Since the computer was free and I was using it for school I was told that it was my computer and I could keep it after I was done with that year, however no games were allowed on it until I was done or something because of the school's policies.

My folks had a 2002/2003 dell XP at the time for their computer but shortly after got themselves a Vista as well. The problem I have is that I somehow ended up with the stupid XP as a lot of you probably know. How the heck that happened, I have no idea but my sister somehow got my 500 dollar laptop.

Initially, my folks planned to have the dell XP be a school computer for anyone to use for homework, which seemed fair, we now had 2 desktops. Eventually they changed their mind that the Vista was now going to be the homework computer... I don't bug them much about this but this hasn't really started to be a decision that ticks me off until now. What really happened was that I got the Dell XP this year, not 2 years ago when I finished with the online school and all that. Now the Laptop is apparently my sister's and it is by no means used for homework.

So I feel kind of ripped off in both senses that it took 2 years and they didn't entirely keep their promise to let me keep the computer. I don't ever bring it up and it hadn't bothered me much, I don't grow up in an insanely rich family and we've never been spoiled enough to have anything just bought for us so owning a computer is sort of a really big privilege, but since we had the 2 spare computers, I don't see how it got twisted around like that. The fact that my laptop (I still call it that) is now in my sisters hands when all she does is download music and destroy the computer by not taking care of it ticks me off. I work incredibly hard to keep this 8 year old piece of crap XP running when it is already so far gone and blue screens like mad, makes my internet connection bad as well as my xbox connection (DB can vouch for that one, disconnecting from matches constantly, been happening a lot lately). Yet she lets my laptop just get destroyed by viruses usually coming from music files, and its nothing I couldn't fix if I looked at the laptop, but she won't let me touch it, she acts like its hers when it was supposed to be my computer, then it was intended to be everyones computer. Not to mention she somehow uninstalled Microsoft office so how does she do homework now.

So I'm pretty pissed off, I won't bring it up to my Dad and I never have really since he has enough to deal with but I still call it my computer whenever I refer to it. I'm at the point where the XP has an unknown amount of days or weeks, or months left and I can't say much once it crashes, it's lame. I've brought it up to my mom finally yesterday and she's completely on my side, but there isn't much I can do. My sister is dead set on the fact that the laptop is hers now too.

It deserved to be the number 1. Have you played the game? Its sick and seriously addicting. The graphics are amazing, the backgrounds are beautiful epic control and syncronization.A better question would be...why shouldn't it have been number 1 last month?

Lets not get over our heads here.

The fighting genre has always been a pretty shallow genre. Don't get me wrong, fighters have their merits too. Fun is fun, no matter how you chalk it up. In all honesty though, the genre has had very little to innovation or evolution outside of it's combat mechanics.

Mortal Kombat has always skewed away from a complex combat mechanic in favor of "mature" content. It waives the genre's one saving grace if favor of pandering and fan service. Basically Mortal Kombat is to fighters what Shania Twain was to country music, a soulless construct aimed at the greatest common factor.

Again, it's cool to like MK. Nothing wrong with mind numbing fun at all. Love it on occasion myself. I'm just surprised it's so popular. I think a lot of people just got caught up with media hype and it'll be lining GameStops's pre-owned shelves in spades in a month or two because of that.

From what I've been hearing MK deserves to be number 1. I'm kinda surprised Portal2 wasn't though, it's seen huge hype and seemingly huge praise. Lego meh. Crysis is supposed to be really good too. Golf, Basketball, the rest MEH.
