Nice, you named one country in the region.
|
JG and I were discussing them specifically right before your post. They are the super power in the region and they share the same faith as Isis. They have the money and the military to stop this but they choose not to. I think my criticism of them is very valid.
Quote:
|
Here is some perspective about that:
|
Yeah I know about that. Why is it relevant that one of the princes is donating money to his own charity? Also he's known to be progressive and stands in stark contrast to his family and the policies of the government. He's the exception, or at least he's pretending to be.
Quote:
|
Now tell why it is their responsibility to eradicate ISIS for us?
|
Why is it our responsibility? Countries in the region always talk about how foreigners should stay out of muslim affairs, well who better to deal with it than powerful muslims from the region? Surely Isis threatens all peaceful people right? It's time for muslims to put their money where their mouth is. If Islam is a religion of peace then prove it by resisting this group of radicals who are tarnishing their faith and brutally butchering their own people. I realize that sounds contradictory but like the old saying says "If you want peace, prepare for war".

That's cause Iran is a stone throw away across the Persian Gulf and
have been wanting to pound the Saudi infidels into oblivion for quite
some time now.
Iran has over twice the man power Saudi Arabia has, sure they're a

Saudi state if they crossed the pond.
ISIS isn't nearly as close and isn't nearly as big a threat.
I do agree that the royal family does have a lot of money to burn.

Iran has a relatively primitive military and very little international support. SA could wipe the floor with them if they wanted to. They don't because in reality SA is an enemy of the US/Israel and they don't wanna do anything to hinder other enemies of the US/Israel.

Historically we have basically made other countries do our bidding or get bombed but that is over thanks to Dubya's messes in Afghanistan/Iraq and Obama's complete mishandling of Syria which directly kicked off ISIS.

We really should. 60 years of interference in the region hasn't worked, ever.
Every independent country in the world says the same thing. Interesting how you frame their international sovereignty as 'muslim affairs'.

You should probably become more informed of international affairs. Or get some realistic perspective. Here's your personal stance regarding Greenpeace attacking Japanese whaling ships.

Great then you agree that the middle eastern countries should step up and solve this. I'm not framing anything I'm specifically talking about muslim countries in relation to Isis.
Quote:

Oh that really hurts coming from someone who is apparently soft on a group like Isis. And yeah I still support that quote, in defense of the truly defenseless it is sometimes necessary to resort to terrorizing your enemy. I'm not saying you should burn them alive or train children to behead them though, that would be Isis level insanity.

Iran vs Saudi Arabia
Iran isn't terribly primitive in equipment, they still have powerful F-
14 Tomcats in their airforce that could outdo the F-15 Eagles Saudi
Arabia has. Their tanks are backwards though, the Zulfiqar doesn't come
close to the power of the Arams M1 the Saudis have.
Ultimately, it'll comedown to manpower and Iran has them far trumped
and definitely could occupy the Saudi lands. Saudi Arabia knows this
and it's why they're so close the Americans.
Especially when they're so close:
That being said, Saudi Arabia is attacking ISIS with the coalition. They
want more military action cause they see it isn't working but they are
doing their part.
Side note: Clearly not all terrorism is bad when Confederate Terrorists
led to Barnum and Bailey Circus!

Well, there's some news on this which I find difficult to believe:
No, this isn't difficult for me to believe - it's impossible.
Saudi Arabia says it broke up planned Islamic State attacks as death toll rises in Iraq blast
Yeah SA is a real League of Superheroes for sure, fighting for justice and freedom.

.. remember their 'Free Kuwait' scandal, where they had one of their Princesses pretend to be an Iraqi who 'witnessed babies being thrown out of incubators' by Iraqi soldiers under Saddam Hussein?
Not only are they documented liars, SA is the kind of place where you can be killed for just about any imaginary crime including but not limited to being accused of practicing Witchcraft, and by that measure I do not think that they would give a shit what other evil people like ISIS are doing; seems to me they'd be taking pointers and cheering them on.
No, Saudi Arabia is more like a cesspit of unspeakable horrors and social injustice devoid of reason, incomparable in today's world with very few exceptions, thankfully.

Yes invasion is unlikely, but it's still good to have a standing army
just in case. Switzerland will likely never be invaded by its neighbors
(though that won't stop it from invading: Liechtenstein: no retaliation for
Swiss 'invasion' | World news | The Guardian) but times change and
it never hurts to keep a large standing army.
Also, just cause you're far smaller to your opponents that hasn't kept
nations from invading regardless:
The Huelocaust
Paraguay once declared war on Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay at the same
time. What proceeded was likely the biggest ass kicking in recorded
history, Paraguay lost almost 70% of it's population and 90%+ of its
male population (Only ~28,000 men survived).

No one else is obligated to fight for us, especially when we started things off by invading other countries in the first place. I don't know why you think they're ultimately responsible for our mess.
The only two powers that could even begin to fight ISIS are Iran and Saudi Arabia, and they are currently involved in proxy wars against each other in Iraq. ISIS is in the region but it's not really a nuisance to them at this point in time.

I don't think anyone is responsible for our mess. I'm saying they need to step up and stop this since the US obviously can't. Fanatical muslims aren't gonna listen to the great satan, we know that and so does every other ME country. Other countries in the region don't want us meddling anymore either. So naturally that leaves it up to them to fix it. The only alternatives are do nothing and let the region descend into a complete warzone for decades or ask for foreign assistance and have a different kind of warzone.
Muslims claim their religion is one of peace. Well if they want the rest of us to believe it they need to make it a reality. You can't just sit by and watch people commit genocide in your faiths name and expect people to over look it. There's a reason there's so much hate for Islam throughout the world and it's not just bigotry. Where there's smoke there's fire.

Yeah as long as they're brutally slaughtering westerners and muslims of a different sect it's not a big deal. How compassionate of them. I think this inaction speaks volumes.

Not everyone is as jaded as you. I care that innocent people are slaughtered by religious nuts. I care that these nuts are blowing up historical sites. I care that they're getting stronger and gaining support from neighboring countries. It doesn't effect me directly right now but if it continues it could threaten everyone.

DB is correct when he said Islam claims to be a religion of peace; so does almost every other religion but upon closer examination you will find invariably their main goal is world domination - they often state it in friendlier terms though.
ONE other thing about peace - graveyards are among the most peaceful of places.

China explosions: Dozens killed in Tianjin port blasts - BBC News
Looks like at least 50 people are dead, with greater numbers expected to be discovered within the day. Half a thousand reported injured.
Must be crazy property damage here. Collapsed buildings, molten cars, broken windows, not to mention the wares of the industrial zone. There's also the various medical bills as well.
China silences netizens critical of "disgraceful" blast coverage - BBC News
I am curious as to whether or not the families of the deceased will be provided any kind of relief from the Chinese government, or if they will speak as little about this event as possible as damage control.

How are people attending a Pokemon convention 'obsessed'?
Also, I don't think these guys were Pokemon fans, more like Pokemon haters; the article said they were making threatening/ hate posts just prior to the event.
