She looks too oily for my tastes.

Btw what's with the oiled up look? I see it a lot but it's never done anything for me. I actually think it looks bad, who wants super oily skin? If the reason is too sexual for this section feel free to PM it to me.

I personally think it's to accent a person's shape, their contours and outlines.

Eh, I am on the fence on this. One time my Mom woke me up for dinner and I was not even up ate the Burger King and went back to sleep. I don't remember even eating it.

Though, if someone ca hypnotize me into sleeping when I want/need to, then game on.

Do you mean we aren't doing a good enough job in putting you to sleep here?

I've heard of such things, with people going to a hypnotist to get sleep, or quit smoking, or whatever, but still,
do you really trust someone to muck around with your brain like that?

Who knows what post - hypnotic suggestion they could put in your head?

I like Chik-Fil-A. I love their grilled chicken club sandwich.

I am sort of on the same page with BK. Their patties are really gross tasting.

I cant stand wendy's, I dont like not being able to tell what part of the burger my teeth are going through. It feels the same way the whole bite through.

Actually all the fast food places are gross if you know the details. Personally I think BK tastes like they overcook their stuff to mask the horrible taste and they just call it flame grilled so it sounds good. At least McDonalds has good salads and other stuff. BK is all about unhealthy crap.

Nothing paranoid about it, the majority of stuff from fast food places is unhealthy. Obvious stuff like salads and juice make up the minority of healthy options. I still eat at these places but I don't have any illusions about it's nutritional value.

That's your choice but don't try to pretend that one crappy food place is better than another. Besides minor details it's all the same garbage heavily flavored so you won't notice. You claimed McDonalds is gross because you know something about it, BK is the same if you took the time to find out the same kind of info, probably worse.

So are you saying that we're hypnotized into thinking it's Ok by the advertisements for these things?
There is a hypnotic power in TV, not only in the way that they make the shows and commercials but also in the 'flicker rate' of the screens themselves.
This effect is especially bad with CRT's.
In that way, we really could be getting put 'under a spell' by our favorite fast foods.

Now there's some food for thought.

We're getting way off topic but yes I do think commercials trick people into liking fast food more than they should. There was a study I read about where small kids were asked to pick between two nearly identical burgers or w/e. They picked the one with the mcdonalds wrapper almost everytime. I don't have a link and I could be a little off on the details but I doubt I'm off by much.

I've heard about the power of suggestion in advertising, and have felt its sharp sting of realization when you realize you were basically tricked at some level and aren't happy with your purchase afterwords.

But what I was saying before, about the 'flicker rate' on CRT's {no doubt you're already aware, but just to let others know}
apparently the rate at which our brains process video, that is, that rate at which we perceive successive frames of a picture to be moving {when we see it as full motion in real time} is exactly the same rate as the flicker of the screen:
60Hz.

Yes, that same 60Hz that's powering your computer, most likely, or if you're in the EU it's probably 50Hz, whose hypnotic effect through CRT's is not as bad as the NAU's 60Hz.

No tinfoil hat required for this one: I learned this in college from our Electronics Guru himself.

Anyways, it's definitely got some hypnotic powers to it, and of course then there's the power of suggestion through subliminal elements within the advertisements themselves..

I've study some hypnotism, read tons of psychology, talked to people who spent their whole academic careers devoting themselves to hypnotism [returning no spectacular results], it's all relative to what you think hypnotism is and it's practical application.
